Coming back from the battle, bruised and torn up, the sovereign did not even bother to run to the meeting hall. Instead, he stood at the front of the crowd. He was covered in cuts and splashes of blood from head to toe, but to him that was not the most important thing. Today was a day to remember. They defended their city, but not for long. With gritted teeth and a narrowed gaze, he stared out towards his people. What did they expect Frederick to say? Hell, there was no time to prepare a speech or sound the royal alarms. If it wasn't a time for leadership, they wouldn't be looking upon him for guidance or pleading for the heads of the Blackfallen.
His forehead's veins bulged outwards as he began to speak in a choked and gritted down voice. "We defended our city today," Frederick declared through huffs. Nails dug into his palm in frustration while his other hand rested on his sword's grip. "It's the end of a battle, but not the war." 'If only it was.' "With Bianca's loss, we have no one in our positions. Hence, I am leaving positions up for grabs. If you wish to take a shot, speak up. Any help is greatly considered." In his opinion, this was a bold move, but a rather very desperate that could greatly screw him over. Elias, though not much of a fighter, would be welcome for any position he chooses as he's proved his loyalty over and over again. Even so, there was a chance someone could use this to their advantage... or more specifically, to Blackfall's advantage.
If they were to gain more positions, their chances of having organization and planned attacks would be greater than ever. They needed that firm grounding. Right now, they did not have any. Frederick was their sole leader and he could not control them forever. "We will strike next, Griffingate. That is my promise." With that in mind, he continued.
Positions came with new acquaintances and with new acquaintances came new alliances. "Our alliance with the North End is a welcome one." Seeing that no one had yet to show to greet Morrigan, he had figured that the deal was sealed. Even with that said, he probably wasn't going to deny her offer even if his peasants spoke up. Any group by their side was rather useful as of right now. "If we are to head in to battle with a low count of people, I will be calling upon them to fill the gap if need be." Though, that mattered if they accepted or not. If not, then Frederick was considering damn scorched earth at this point.
"Speak away folks," came his final words. Frederick wanted their opinions and if they wanted to step up, then they may.
