the male looked a bit stunned by the nickname, but he was not going to complain. he rather liked a new nickname from time to time. she was soon laughing at him as well and then she was dipping the baby into the ocean. trotting over to stand near her, he blinked at her question as he felt his 'rider' making its way up his back.

shouldn't hurt it. just have to be sure nothing bigger is nearby that might eat it is all. though, it seems safe for now. he answered as he looked the little octopus over. then, a tentacle slapped about his neck and he sighed. do you mind?

he huffed as he twisted his head to the creature on his back. ears flicking as he watched it move. as if it wasn't just trying to wrap about his neck.

she should've thought about that, realistically. that a bigger animal was the thing she should worry about for the little octopus. maybe taking it away from the tidepool wasn't the best idea. good thing it wasn't that far away from the... quartet. agrimony's friend seemed to be on its merry way to strangle him. "you need help with your friend there? i can try get him away from your neck." or her. she didn't know how to tell if an octopus was a male or a female - she lifted her tiny buddy and stared into its funky eyes. "are you a male or female? hmmm." a small smile appeared onto her maw as she looked back at agri. "is that also a baby octopus, or is that a grown big one?" maybe asking if she could remove the octopus from agrimony's body wasn't the best idea - she could picture her collapsing in a heap with tentacles all over the place and a gooey body squashing her flat.

another tentacle wrapped about his neck and the voice of inferno caught his attention. ah, no. i wouldn't want it to grab you. he admits before looking to his hooves a moment. he would lower his body to the sand. letting waves wash him and the few tentacles it could reach.

then she asked about this one and he looked to his new 'rider'. closer to grown. adults are a bit harder to come by. they tend to.. pass away after having kids. he answers as he studies the octipus on his back. trying to figure out age or gender was hard.

he didn't want her to get grabbed by a tentacle? well, they were rather sticky and seemed like they could do some damage if they were, for example, dragging her along the depths of the ocean floor. she didn't think about that, there was no point.
the octopus that was on his back was almost a grown one, and the sentence that followed made her slightly sad. "they die after having children? that must sound like a painful life to live.." she mused quietly to herself, looking at the octopus in her paws. "don't die, okay? you're too pretty to die."

he let his head tilt back to look at inferno as she sounded rather sad. don't feel bad for them. some never breed and live to be giants. he offered her that ray of hope, or perhaps nightmare. for him, that idea was a bit much. yet, he had heard stories of this.

he just hoped he never witnessed it. he would lose his mind if he ever did. sighing, he would move into the water. shaking his body to try and dislodge his 'rider'. a splash caught his attention though and he looked out past the reef. seeing a grey body leap into the air.

he said she shouldn't feel bad for them, however. reason? they live to grow really big. her ears perked up and her mood visibly lifted. she wanted to see a big one really badly but wasn't really sure how that would play out - would it eat her? crush her with its tentacles? throw her into the ocean? catnap her?
the sound of water splashing drew her attention. it was agri, shaking his sturdy form in a hopeless attempt to get the octopus on his back off. she limped over to him, her own little friend clinging onto her paw before she gave up walking, sat down, and let it clamber onto her flank. immediately she felt tentacles encircle her waist like a sucky wet hug. continuing moving and making sure her octopus baby had enough ocean water, she reached the stallion and pressed a paw against his side, raising up onto her hind legs to look at his octopus. "hello little octopus! do you maybe want to get off of him? do you want to go and explore the ocean some more?" she held out a paw for it to accept and after a little bit of a hesitation it tentatively reached out to pat her leg, then began sliding his body down the length of her limb to settle next to her baby octopus. "don't go eating each other now.." she warned sternly. she didn't want there to be a bloodbath on her back.

"there agri! you're all free now." he didn't respond, was staring off into the distance, so she looked as well and saw some things jumping out of the water. she tilted her head, twisting her body to face them. "agri, what are those? do you know what those are?" she asked the octopi friends. "i don't know what they are."

the touch of inferno made him look over and he realized the octopus was gone. ears twitching as she spoke about the dancing creatures out in the ocean, the stallion let out a soft chuckle. thank you. that one seemed rather happy choking me. he mused before looking back out to the dolphins.

i used to watch these with my mother. she taught me about the ocean a long time ago. he almost whispered the words. he seemed lost in memory a moment before he looked to inferno. those are dolphins. they are typically nice and love to play. though, they can be dangerous if you are a fish or shark.

the woman was special to him, and he wondered if his mother would like her. he thought she would. i used to want to be like them. he added as he looked back out. when he was a child he loved the idea of dancing in the ocean.
