[div style="width: 51%; text-align: justify; font-size: 10pt; letter-spacing: 0px; font-family: georgia; color: #301014;"]as soon as she was on his back, he was off at a slow trot. careful not to let her fall off as he headed along in the sands. he would glance over his shoulder to make sure his gait was comfy still. adjusting to seem as if he was gliding over the sands with ease. the moment he was at the tide pools, he stopped.

he took in the tide to make sure they wouldn't get caught in the rising waters. for now, they were good and so he lowered himself to help her off. careful near the edge. coral can be sharp and the edges slippery. he warns as he looked to the sparkling waters. small fish swimming and a few starfish on the rocks inside.

the moment she was off he would rise up to look into the pool closest to him. maybe we can see a small octopus or something in there. would be fun. he mused as he looked away to see if the dolphins were out yet. though he didn't see any, yet.

he kept turning to look at her, making sure she was comfortable, and she smiled and let a small purr rumble in her throat. his shoulders were broad and warm and she watched the sand fly beneath his hooves like water. they reached the tide pools and she hopped off, not anticipating how slippery it was. fortunately she managed to find a grip and turned her head to look at him. the warning came a little late but she chuckled good-naturedly nonetheless. "thanks for the notice."

he said they might see a small octopus, and she blinked, interested. crouched down and stared intently at the water, marvelling at the beautiful colors and shapes and animals she could see - there were so many! colors that matched her eyes, the sky, agrimony's pelt, the leaves the flowers the sand of the coalition.. joy swelled in her heart and she let out a laugh.

[div style="width: 51%; text-align: justify; font-size: 10pt; letter-spacing: 0px; font-family: georgia; color: #301014;"]when she slipped, he almost panicked. his heart almost stopped but her laugh made him relax a bit. you're very welcome. he teased back as he tossed his mane to the right side and cocked his head coyly. then, she looked into the water and he moved to stand beside her. gazing into the pool.

for a moment he remembered his days running on distant shores. the freedom and the happiness. all of that was ripped away when his herd turned on him. yet, as he stood there with inferno, he felt that feeling again. only it was so much better. his thoughts almost caused him to miss it and he lifted a hoof to poke into the cool waters.

a small tentacle wrapping about it as he pulled a baby giant octopus up a little ways. it had been hiding in a small hole, but after seeing an oddly squiggle arm for a split second, he couldn't deny his intuition. he used to show his younger siblings these on that shore time and time again.

ah.. i didn't expect such a small one. he admitted as the tiny thing hung on his hoof. though he kept it in the water to prevent harm, he could tell the small thing was content for now.

she felt agrimony lean down beside her and he gently pushed a hoof into the water, causing some ripples. inferno opened her mouth to protest that she couldn't see the animals anymore, but he raised his leg slightly and attached was a small octopus. all protests died down and she looked at the animal, wonder swirling in her optics. she'd never seen one before, not even back at the typhoon. she slowly reached out a paw to greet it, and another tentacle made its way to bat at her paw pads, making her giggle.

"agrimony? what is this?" she was so inexperienced in the world, never had a chance to explore, never had the opportunity to see anything like this. she was feeling happy, free. for once in her life she felt like she could do anything.

the male took in her gaze and her words drifted into his mind. he looked down to the small creature on his hoof as it swatted at her playfully. they were cute when they were little. this is a baby giant octopus. its cute now but the adults are huge and could drown me if they wanted.

he admits with a chuckle as if that fact wasn't god awful in every fashion. the fact was that he was not worried it would happen. they were gentle giants, for the most part. its only one of many types, but its one of the more friendly ones.

the fact didn't scare her - it intrigued her. they sounded like beautiful, destructive beings that could kill them each with a simple swat. a baby giant octopus. she didn't know how big they got, but she stored the name into a mental note for in the future. maybe she could tame them in the future and attack her birthplace, who knows.
he said that this was a more friendly animal and she immediately wanted to know more about them and just how dangerous they could be. she looked up at him, eyes large and pleading. "which are the more dangerous, and can we find some?"

her pleading eyes made him falter a moment. she wanted to find others? he wondered if they could and he let his head turn to glance out at the waters. ocean reefs. they can sometimes be found there. i can see if i can find one for you. he offered as he gently shook the small one from his hoof and into the waters. then, he turned to trot towards the ocean.

eyes scanning for any signs of a reef as he did not want to run the risk of swimming in circles. then again, he had never dove under ocean waves, but for her he was gonna try. so, he moved into the cool waters. there seems to be a reef over there. where the waves are breaking slightly. i will try and see if i cant find one a bit bigger there.

and with that, he waded into the waters further until he was swimming. his pelt soaked and head held high. he had to find one or at least try. he just hoped there were no socks.

ocean reefs? she didn't really know what they were either, but he said he would try find one bigger for her, and her tail flicked happily. her gaze followed his hoof as it shook off the baby octopus, and it landed almost as if in slow motion with a plop. her mouth opened in an inhale-shriek, very very quiet, and she crouched down, holding her balance as absolute BEST as she could to dip her paw into the water.

agrimony trotted off, presumably to find her a bigger baby octopus, but she didn't worry about that at the moment. the reefs and their baby octopi could wait. this baby octopus came first. "please please pleasepleasepleasepleaseeeeeeeeee come backkkkkkkkkk.." she murmured quietly to herself, cursing that dumping her paw in the water caused a bunch of ripples.

suddenly, she felt something wrap around her paw and she shrieked, stumbling back and falling onto the sand. closing her eyes to prevent sand from getting into them and let out an "eep!" 1000% sure it was some monster coming out of the depths of this tide pool she assimilated monsters to tide pools.

shaking her paw to get rid of it didn't seem like the smart idea - what if it bit harder? okay, maybe what if she actually looked at what was on her paw? she was inferno cipher-vantas, fearer of absolutely NOTHING! so she peeped open her eye a crack and saw

the baby octopus from earlier.

she coughed sheepishly - she must've startled it into oblivion when she decided to fall backwards. "i'm sorry.." she murmured, holding the animal closer to her face. it gave her somewhat of a rueful look. "okay, i'm SORRYYYYYYY!!" the baby octopus reached out a tentacle to pat her on the nose, and she blinked at it.

he was soon on the reef and he was using it to hold himself above the water a moment. eyes searching for any sharks or other threats. he needed not to be nervous, but he knew a shark would make a snack out of him if it was large enough. taking a deep breath, he ducked under the water and let himself feel about the reef edges cautiously.

the male would come up for air and didn't seem to notice the larger octopus upon his back. sighing, he would turn towards shore in time to hear a scream. anger flared in his eyes and he surged forward. ready to fight for her if he had to and fearing he would not make it back to her in time.

the water rippled around him as he powered through the water to the shore. his tag-a-long clinging to him, but his fear for inferno drowned out his senses. the second his hooves touched the sand he burst from the water and came to a stop. scattering sand and looking puzzled. he swore he heard her let out a loud eep.

his eyes fell on her and the baby octopus. after a moment, he seemed to realize nothing was wrong and then he felt something wrapped about his hind courters. looking over his shoulders, he blinked and then he laughed. a dazed octopus on his rear was just the thing to push him over the edge.

i'm so glad you are okay, and sorry you had to go through that. he spoke to inferno first and then to the probably traumatized octopus.

enraptured with the octopus and desperately trying to calm the poor thing down she barely noticed agrimony galloping over as if his life depended on it. she wasnät sure for long octopi could hold their breaths above water, but this one probably needed to get back into the water soon. she rose to three paws, turned, and saw agrimony. "oh hey there horsey! look what i found!" she declared, rather proudly, holding out the octopus before nudging past him and heading towards the water.

he began laughing behind her, and her pelt burned. did he see what happened to her? was he laughing at how much of a fool she had made out of herself? she didn't like to be humiliated - she turned around, maw falling open, ready to chew him out, then saw he was laughing at another octopus that was latched onto his hindquarters. a small chuckle fell from her open mouth and soon she was joining him, peals of laughter ringing across the shore as she waded deeper into the ocean so her octopus friend could get some water. "hey agri? would it be bad if the baby octopus from the tide pool was let out into the big ocean?" she should've asked that before letting the animal breathe in the big, bad ocean, but too late now. the thing was slippery and she was repeatedly dipping it in and out of the water so it wouldn't die.
