Humming was a bit easier in this body, less of a chore than in his old one, but that was- what, one bonus? If he'd judged her reaction when they met earlier correctly, he wished he could tell her there was nothing to be jealous of, unless she had a hankering for hacking up pellets and falling through shit on the daily. Maybe she did. Anyway, that didn't matter so much, although he did briefly lament his inability to smile back; his best effort was working with the eyes, and not everyone could interpret gazes very well. The hybrid did laugh though, a bit startled by it. Gabelicious. That was a first. So were the others, but the last was the most amusing. "You think I'd try keeping a name like Gabelicious secret? Nah, it's just Gabriel." He didn't mind his name- his mother gave it to him, after all, but he'd found very few could replicate its sound as she spoke it, trilled and smooth. Gabe was just fine with him. It was the simplest for everyone, though he was distracted from his very interesting thoughts when she scoffed. What an expressive creature she was. Humorous, too, something he needed after so much time spent either alone or with the hot-headed Lazarus, who wasn't exactly prime time comedy. Still loved him, though. "A proposal? I'm assuming you'll have to decline. For the sake of your beauty sleep- you'll need it eventually." Gabe could see the value in deflection with humor, though he didn't always practice it himself.
It was nice to laugh, however.
"Oh, I have to beat the admirers off with a stick." Not really, but the truth was less interesting. Much of her interactions with the others present seemed to be laced with a similar sort of evasion, though he did spare Washington a brief glance. Wasn't he an odd guy? More strange than Gabe, and that was saying something.
