DEAR FRIEND as you know,  your flowers are withering
your mother's gone insane, your leaves have drifted away.
but the clouds are clearing up
and i've come reveling, burning incandescently,
like a bastard on the burning sea.

    YOU'RE JUST LIKE YOUR FATHER,
    BURIED DEEP UNDER THE WATER.
She'd been spending the past week getting acquainted with the avian, not wishing to overwhelm each other in their new relationship. After all, they weren't just a kind present, but a living being. And she didn't want them to have a miserable time being at the tigress' side. Fortunately, it hadn't been difficult for them to acquaint each other, the female being careful in her interactions with the other and giving attention when desired, space when needed. The female had opted to call the other Derya and would take them on brief walks, mostly staying away from too many faces at once so not to scare them. They seemed to find a knack for perching on the female's shoulder, and she was quite alright with that.

The female figured it would be an alright time to go out and start doing something she'd started to come up with in the past few days. Partially from Diya's suggestion to hold a feast for a task a few months ago, though she'd been putting it off for when she knew she'd be more prepared for such a crowd, when her head didn't spin from being around too many individuals at once. The past month had been going quite smooth and she has proven to seem good enough to handle this finally, deciding she wanted to go all out for it. It was good timing, just after the wedding between her mothers, and so she wanted to make it a nice celebration for not just her crew but the allies they had as well. It may be a little crowded, but that's why she wasn't going to try and take it all on her own.

Goldie, if nothing else, enjoyed being prepared. Even if her head had been struck, this would still ring true, as evident by her plans with taking on this challenge in the tavern. She'd set up a few flyers to spread around the island, posting up on trees, calling for assistance for a potluck in the tavern. To bring supplies, ideas, and themselves if they wished to sign up with food to bring. And once inside, she'd have a piece of paper for others to write down their names if they volunteered to bring food and drinks. Whether it be snacks, a full on meal, alcohol, some apple juice, she would take it all. She was planning on inviting both of their allies, so they'd need a lot of food. And the female herself would be seen standing overtop the fireplace, starting to hang up some streamers, Derya perched just in front of her.

Any work within the tavern caught the tiny dealer's attention.  Since she resided in the Sky Parlor, it was often hard to miss the hustle and bustle of paws at work.  She certainly didn't mind.  Unsurprised to hear it was Goldie at the heart of it.  Potluck preprations.  It felt familiar.  It was just the sort of job she'd put her mind to.

"Aloha, Goldie," the petite wildcat called, quickly trotting down the stairs.  Eager to be useful herself, Keona made her way over.  Ears perked in attention.  Curious.  "Anything I can help with?"

She knew she was not much use in the kitchen.  Or as a heavy lifter.  But there was plenty of work to be done.

    MARIANAS
    NYSTRÖM!

Well little Mari didn't know anything about what a potluck was but she could kinda read. So she was sitting there and squinting at the flying, trying to make sense out of it before she merely huffed. It just gave off a very important vibe and so she was gonna go and see. After all she knew what tavern looked like and she needed to go and have a look see. Scampering off from the tree she made her way into the small buildings that made up different places and her bright gold eyes settled on the tavern. She could tell there was something going on and her tail twitched sharply back and forth before she pranced her way up the steps and inside. Once there she beamed a bright smile before curling her tail against her body. A small habit to stop her tail from going mad. "So, what's all this about? I tried to read the flyer, honest, but like...well.." There were some words she just didn't know. Embarrassment washed over her but she pushed it away, sitting still becoming uncomfortable. So she walked around Keona.

Once she saw the streamers the young beta gave a gasp and almost practically bounced. "It's a party! Let me help! Please!" She was not meal savvy in the slightest but she could do something. Anything. She just wanted to help and if she could she would make it the best party that anyone had ever seen in their lives. "I could go and get more decorations! Or! Orrrr! I could get some of those fuzzy nuts out of the trees. Ah, as soon as I learn how to climb them." She giggled before sitting down suddenly after realizing she might be over doing it just a little.

Danny hadn’t been anywhere near the flyers to the get the picture of what Goldie was up to, which was probably a good thing. He couldn’t really read...that well, and if he had been outside and picked up on what was going on, he would’ve bailed and failed his own mission of trying to be more social. Not because he wanted to fail, but realistically he would have. Nah, he’d been upstairs listening to the commotion while organizing the few rocks he found worthy to take back by size.

Stepping down the stairs behind Keona, although much slower, the kid stopped halfway and looked over at what was going on. He looked down at the bottom of the steps, then at the fireplace, deciding he would just lay down on the steps, not moving back up but not going down either. Partially because he didn’t want to get in the way and mess something up, and also partially because that was one large bird, and he may or may not have been a little scared of Derya.

Marianas seemed excited, but anxiety began to gnaw at him suddenly. Parties meant a lot of people in one place, right? And he thought meetings were bad. ”Party? For, um....for what?” His voice cracked, and Danny immediately put a black paw on top of his snout to keep his mouth shut.

ALL I FOUND THE SPACE BETWEEN THE SPACES
STANDING IN THE NOTHING, AND TIME RECLAIMS YOU
When Michael had given Goldie his "gift" of Derya, he had wanted her to have an ever-present sense of companionship. Even though he tried his best to provide her with his own company and protection, he couldn't be around all the time. Neither could Roxie, or Diya. It was because of this that he had thought Derya would be a good companion. Initially, he had considered giving her one of Princess's little babies, but had ultimately decided against it. Goldie seemed much more like the parrot type, not only because of her status as a former captain, but also because parrots could be rather talkative pets. He figured she would like having someone to chat with, whenever she wanted to. Even if she was just venting out about her day to Derya, it seemed as though they would be a comfort.

He had been a little worried about how the pair would get along, but it certainly seemed as though things were going alright. Pushing through the front doors of the tavern, Michael paused upon seeing Goldie standing there, with Derya perched in front of her. He grinned at the sight, moving over to Goldie's side and briefly pressing into her fluff as he spoke, "Hey, Goldie! Nice to see you and my little gift getting along... such a pretty bird." He raised one of his dark paws to brush over Derya's feathers, pulling it back before they could peck at him. He then added with a casual hum, his nub of a tail moving back and forth behind him, "Anyways... I brought some drinks for the potluck! I can even help with mixing them when the time comes." He turned and headed back towards the front doors, grabbing the small bag that he had put aside upon walking in. He then moved to dump the bag out on the bar counter, propping the various bottles of alcohol up in a line.

Listening to what both Marianas and Danny had to say, a soft snort left the thieves throat. Turning towards the two of them, he addressed Marianas first, "Fuzzy nuts on the trees? You mean coconuts? Just uh... be careful, alright? Climbing palm trees isn't exactly very easy." He had only tried it once before, and it had hardly gone very well for him. That wasn't exactly surprising, considering his usual lack of balance. The male then turned his mismatched gaze towards Danny, saying with a hum, "Not every party needs a reason! Besides, not like we don't have plenty to celebrate anyways, considering our captain's recent wedding." Their captain, and his sister. He couldn't be more happy for her, considering he had been watching her and Diya's relationship develop from the very beginning.

/definitely didn't forget to respond noooo certainly not

When others began to arrive, the female would find herself pleased. Happy that others were coming to chip in, the first being Keona. Her small presence was unsurprising to the female, though it did occur to her she'd overlooked making her flyers in braille. She'd have to figure out how to do all of that for future endeavors (Fortunately, muscle memory would make it easy to pick back up when she did). Nonetheless, the female was able to tell that clearly something was going on and figured it out herself. Anything she could help with? Wow, that was a lot of faith to put in the tigress. She wasn't sure what would suit Keona best. So the female went quiet, setting her body down for a moment to think on it. "Well, since is' a potluck, we'll need plenty o' entertainment. Maybe you could prepare some folks t' sing or tell jokes, or if you've got any games that'd work too!" She thought that would suit the other well enough, and not potentially put her in over her head. There'd be plenty others to do visual things like decoration, and larger members to catch whatever food they'd need. Being dealer, it seemed to make enough sense to put her in charge of that.

Next would be Marianas, the child quick to involve herself in the activity. She would offer a warm smile to the female, listening quietly as she spoke up. She would blink at her mention of helping with either decorations or grabbing fuzzy nuts - which she assumed were coconuts. The choice was pretty easy to make here, and she'd offer a small nod towards her. "Well, I think you could make some great decorations for us! N' we can figure out how t' climb palm trees later, together." The female offered lightly, seeing as she technically hadn't gotten around to doing such a task yet herself. Her wings even went unused since waking up. Though maybe it would be time to try them out soon if she still felt well enough.

Her ears would swivel at Danny's question, tail tip twitching as she looked over to him. "Oh, is' just for fun. Our allies are gonna come n' eat a buncha' yummy food wit' us!" she answered quickly, figuring that was a good enough explanation for a potluck. She could sympathize with the worry of so many being in one place, seeing as her head still got overwhelmed by crowds pretty easy. But, she hoped it could be a good chance to meet everybody she hadn't without having to traverse across the mainland for several days to do it. Plus, maybe Sophiea would come and there'd be even more time for her to see the female.

Michael's approach would cause a happy, warm smile to form on her features, looking to her uncle as he closed in on her and then spoke up, eyes glancing towards Derya. She chuckled quietly as he pet them, but went quiet as he mentioned bringing his own things for the potluck. Drinks - that was good. She didn't know much about mixing drinks...besides smoothies, and tea, if that counted. She waited for him to finish speaking, responding to the two younger members' inquiries with his own two cents before responding to him. "That sounds good! I hadn' even thought of that. Thank you, uncle Mikey." She'd say first, clapping her front paws together in an eager manner. "I think Derya likes all the attention n' treats I give 'em." She'd joke lightly.
