Ichigo had come across a couple people in his life that weren't all that very fond of fighting. It was understandable that some creatures would rather have peace than feel blood and bones break beneath their body. Ichigo probably would have turned out the same way if he had never become a Shinigami. Maybe he was too stubborn to try and remain peaceful all the time. The armored wildcat had no intention of trying to start a war whenever he could, as he would give everything he could as a means of containing peace. At the same time, however, he wasn't going to sit back and watch other groups wreak havoc on others either. He wasn't that type of guy. One of the more known creatures he had come to know over the years would probably be Shininglight. Back when the other was just a kitten, the male had started to develop a blindness, and Ichigo had offered himself to be the other's mentor and try to teach him the best that he could to protect himself despite the other's disability. It had worked out for a little while, but in the end, it was obvious that Shining wasn't the type for fighting, and went more into the medical field of the clan that he was with. Ichigo was happy the other was actually able to find what he wanted to do with his life. It was almost ironic that Shining became one of his closest friends as the other ended up having the ability to see again after getting another body, and at the same time being able to see what Ichigo was through the use of his powers. Those that had managed to figure out exactly what Ichigo was had a good chance of being a target, but also had a bigger chance of growing closer toward the Shinigami at the same time. Constantina is another example, one of his adopted nieces that didn't want him or anyone else hurt. Although, they were extremely young at the time of their death from a cancerous ailment.
She had been so caring and selfless, and Ichigo could only sit down and watch as she rotted away. Ichigo was also used to having others look toward him when they needed help in battle or anything dealing with strength. It was important for him to remain strong so that others could see that it wasn't impossible to go through all the horrible things they would have to get through in their life. Ichigo could understand why the other was cautious of borders. He had been too when they had been at war with a group that wanted to show that they shouldn't be messed with and took innocent lives. Lives that the Shinigami had to deal with after once their souls detached from their bodies and he had to figure out a way to get them to pass on. Ichigo couldn't help but let out a huff from his jaws when he heard the mention that there was never anything that seemed to remain extinct. He could transform into a dragon if he wanted to, but that body itself had limitations too, and he preferred the body he had now. "You can say that again. I feel like I've seen whatever the world can throw at me when it comes to different species." Ichigo said, the side of his mouth lifting slightly as a grin. The Shinigami's expression would return to being neutral when the other talked about not wanting to get in the way of the professionals. It could just simply be by preference, but he also didn't know Wendell enough to be able to form a concrete conclusion when it came to conflict. "Eventually yes. But a group, a clan I used to call a place like this, works as a family unit. Everyone is going to be needed even if it isn't your specialty. I believe in communication with those that live in a group like this, any feedback and ideas should be welcome no matter how big or how small. Everyone's opinions should be taken into consideration." No one had to be a fighter to help win a war.
There were plenty of those that didn't lift a claw and were able to turn a tide based on strategy alone. It did help to know some form of self-defense so that they wouldn't eventually be captured if the enemy did attack. Ichigo probably wouldn't be where he was today if he didn't listen to what everyone needed to say. The cougar watched the wolverine at work while the other grabbed the juice that he had requested. The conversation turned light-hearted again as he let out a low rasped chuckle from his jaws at the other's comment on the basket. "I'd probably lose whatever I would put in a basket like that considering how vast it is." Ichigo joked again about the size. He wondered if there was something like that back in Soul Society. One of the divisions probably could come up with something like that. It took only a couple of seconds before the glass was pushed in front of him again, and Ichigo dipped his head slightly in thanks, a habit that he had come to develop over the years. He would grab the glass, curling his toes around the glass as much as possible so that he wouldn't drop it like an idiot. He gave the glass a small sniff, again developed out of habit, before tipping the glass into his mouth.
He wasn't into extremely sweet foods like most others seemed to be. He much preferred spicy food, but a spicy drink probably didn't exist and it wasn't overly sweet. Ichigo was going to take his time drinking it, putting it back down onto the blanket again, dragging his salmon-hued tongue across his lips to lick off any residue left behind. "Hey this is some pretty good stuff. What's in it?" Ichigo complimented before asking a question in a calm manner. He didn't have all that many different drinks over the years. He remembered when someone tried to make him drink tea, and how awful the stuff tasted. The swordsman would listen to his options on what he could eat, and he preferred not eating the likes of human food whenever he could get passed it. He had experience with things like that. He flicked one of his ears as he closed his bi-colored eyes and hummed to himself for a couple seconds, before opening them again and speaking. "I guess I'll take the few pieces of meat you got. I ain't picky whether it's cooked or not." The wildcat answered the other. Ichigo would keep in mind that the other was capable of baking, reminding him a friend that disappeared a couple years ago that was capable of baking pies.
