shake the old way + ichigo - toboggan - 10-20-2018

Tardy eyelids draped halfway over his chocolate bulbs, fatigue veiling the expanded of his mentality. Following Marina’s declaration of war on the Ascendants, the generally-exultant mustelid found himself in a wonky situation in regards to his sleeping schedule. Wendell was afraid, and when the wolverine was afraid, the common late-night thoughts of anxiety went beyond the usual amplitude. With the night sky peering through a cracked window, his peepers fixated on the aged wooden wall, his intuitions took advantage over the weakened state he was in. The Ascendants have done bad, he had thought, but then again, so has Sunhaven. For the duration of this bypast week, the foundations of a significant idea were masterminded into reality, accumulating every negative and realistic concept he’d conceived and bunching them together to form one major doctrine; Sunhaven were hypocrites. The very matter that began brewing the disaccord between the two groups was ‘poor skills in decision making’. Sunhaven was undoubtedly guilty of that same issue, with Marina’s impulsiveness taking the helm of the tribe’s affairs. No offence to her, as much as a great leader she had been so far, the Helion’s lack of patience tossed her underlings into sticky footing. Supposing that she took a bloody second to analyze her surroundings instead of starting raids, perhaps this conflict wouldn’t be? Not only that, but her blind need for “justice” is putting even more pressure on the situation. Didn’t she stride into another group’s territory, demand for an apology that they were not ready to make, and then act surprised when they weren’t too pleased with her choices? These circumstances were even more heated than his previous home’s, and he left Snowbound on account of how messy everything has gotten.

However, the wolverine did not forgive the Ascendants’ behaviour either. The starlovers had accused Bucky of murder, one that he was proven innocent of, and yet they consistently denied vindication. From that, Wendell got why his leader was enraged. An injustice was done, but instead of maturely assessing the scene like an adult, she straightforwardly encourages the rest of Sunhaven to murder any Ascendant in sight. At least the enemy went about the ballgame without the equal level of ferocity.

Yet, he was so inferior to many of the remaining Sunhavenfolk by his position, that he had no options when it came to preventing the conflict - or, he did, as there was evermore the opportunity of petitioning for peace, though that would almost certainly at no time take effect, seeing that most individuals condoned this unruly fighting.

Daylight shone upon him, the rays of which reflected brightly off of the couple of glasses he had settled on coasters, the two in question resting peacefully on a timeworn blanket. It was a mini-picnic, as a few bottles were set up on the outskirts on one side, whilst some snacks bordered the other. A month had passed, one long month in his newfound home, and for the greater part, he’d quite enjoyed it. Of course, some bumps were on the path, like when the raptors were let loose, the ghosts arrived and fucked up his house, and now the current conflict, yet for nearly the entirety of his stay he’d face everything with a smile. That was until he found himself shouting at both parties while the scuffle at the border was transpiring. The event had caused Wendell to realize that he was in grave danger; he had no friends to turn to. On the assumption that outbursts became a repeated offence, the wolverine’d only find himself hated to even a higher extent with every event, and soon he’d be nothing but an outcast. That would change if he had trusty friends on his side. That is the reason why this was constructed, the little picnic. It was meant for one other - first come, first serve.

A good conversation was what Wendell needed the most. He was tired, the lack of proper rest to blame for it, yet he could always speak.

(No worries buddy this is great! And yeah you can't really tag his account due to the ' | | ' in the account name sadly but its all good! And don't worry, I probably won't to keep up lots of muse in a thread either haha. Also! If given permission, would it be okay for Ichi to see Wendell's aura? If so feel free to describe what his aura looks like or I can make somethin up! As Ichi memorizes aura's better than names.)

In a war, no side ended up winning. Some would beg to differ when it comes to the end of the war and one gives up and the other does not. What does the other side win though when the other surrenders? Majority of the time it just stops the fighting and nothing else happens between the two groups. They don't acquire anything, and it was like the time before all the fighting had started happening. When he was only a year old, a youngster in the eyes of others, he didn't know what a war was. Ichigo had grown up in the mountain range with the rest of his family, both of them being cougars like he was. His species seemingly rare when it came to the clans that he did end up going to. The wildcat didn't really give it much thought though, as his family wasn't a clan. They defended their territory from other predators, but that was usually about it. They were solitary majority of the time. There were no massive groups for them to fight in the means of their honor. Instead, it was just themselves until they all died. Ichigo wasn't sure if his father was still alive since he was indeed a Shinigami, but over the course of 4 years? He doubted the other was actually still around. Maybe he had finally kicked the bucket. Which wouldn't be surprising. The oversized cougar was on his own for almost an entire year after his mother's death, and he only came to learn the aspect of war when he joined his first clan. It was a group that was centered around the aspect of a Hawk, and he wasn't sure what to think about the group when he arrived. Of course, they had looked at the katana that he had with him back in the day.

They were at war with another clan at the time, and Ichigo didn't know anything about clan politics and just started walking in a random direction until he found someone to talk to. It wasn't exactly strange for him to do to decide to roam around for a little bit. When he talked with someone that thought he was an enemy, they actually ended up becoming good friends thanks to Ichigo's casual manner. When his clan did find out tho that he was talking to the enemy, they certainly didn't like it. But if it brought them members from the other group they didn't really try to approach him about it. He went to every clan to interact with them, and it was up to them whether or not they wanted to be aggressive to him. He wasn't going to be aggressive as long as they didn't try to blatantly attack him. He still remembered the faces of those that he was friends with before they ended up dying like the rest. When he became the leader of a clan two times, he wasn't surprised that he was given the option of whether or not to go to war or keep it silent. One group started problems in the very beginning, and in order to preserve the likes of his clanmates from being injured constantly, he went to war against them. Their larger size was far too much for them to bare, and evidently, they left the enemy alone to disappear in the wind as they broke apart. The second time that he was the leader, there was a far more approaching threat, a group that was enemies with every clan in the area and was full of exiled members. They were known for capturing children and torture them, killing children and anyone they came across. It was horrid, and they had set their sights on his clan. The clan was repairing itself from his absence, few members were actually still around, but he built it from the ground all the way up to peak performance. They were able to easily defend themselves from two groups, but it was rare that Ichigo would often instigate a rate back as a means of revenge.

Revenge wasn't something that he took lightly, as he knew how toxic it could make someone. With his decreasing mental health through the aspect of revenge over the years were definitely prominent and something that he would more than happily do now if it meant he would get after the killer of his daughter again. Revenge got nowhere, and there were no winners in war. Ichigo had no idea that this group was in the middle of a war, and that there were plenty of groups that seemed to enjoy a significant amount of violence. All that Ichigo knew was that the group were traders. He had mixed feelings about traders, but from the looks of it, they weren't the traders that sold drugs and alcohol. He never did any of those, and no intention of letting his clan partake in those. Ichigo didn't know anyone in this Sunhaven, and he wasn't about to start fighting in a war that he didn't know which side to join. Would he probably eventually leave this group? Potentially. The Shinigami was on the move a lot in order to make sure he was protecting those that lived in this world. Right now though he was trying to get the lay of the land and doing his damned best to avoid the damned ocean. Why did the first place he ended up going to have to be the ocean? Despite how tough he looked, Ichigo was terrified of the ocean for the many horrible experiences near drownings from enemies. He refuses to go near the water if he can, and he doubts his mental state would be able to contain itself near a large body of water if he was pushed into it.

It wasn't hard to hear the largely armored cougar moving around thanks to that his metal and leather armor rattled with each step that he took. His bi-colored eyes constantly looking around to see if he could see anything interesting and also looking for any spiritual threats as there were always those. He flicked one of his black backed ears as he stretched his back left leg that was covered in scars from a crocodile attack years ago. Eventually, he caught an unfamiliar scent and turned his head in the direction only to see.... a picnic. Well, that was interesting, he hadn't seen a picnic in years. This was true because he had been living a solitary life for an entire real-life year. Finally, his eyes came to land on a wolverine. Oh. It was the wolverine that was upset and had left the meeting as soon as it was over. The other seemed to be content but also tired, so the Shinigami thought he might as a couple questions to get an idea of what Sunhaven was and their relations to other clans. Ichigo made his way over, stopping at the opposite edge of the blanket, not wanting to interrupt the wolverine if he was waiting for something. "Nice picnic you got here. I'm Kurosaki Ichigo."  The Japanese swordsman introduced his last name first in the traditional way, before rolling his shoulders and adjusting the sword that was on his back so that it was settled in between his shoulder blades. "Say, how long have you lived here?" Ichigo would ask slightly curiously as he tilted his head to the side. It was an honest question, as he needed to know how reliable the wolverine's info would be.

Re: shake the old way + ichigo - toboggan - 10-21-2018

//thanks Smile) i try but movile can be very limiting + and there’s no problem on the aura part! wendell’s would be a stiff red, no darker or lighter, which i’m p sure signifies passion and energy.

Reverberations of bickering equipment parroted midst the air, compelling the male to softly shoot the source a precluding glare of curiosity immediately as the racket met his rounded ears. These sounds had caught the male off guard. Normally, all that was audible in this certain area of Sunhaven’s territory were the crashing of waves and cawing of seabirds, both token factors in every seaside terrace. At intervals, perhaps you’d get an earful of fellow Sunhavenfolk at work, hammering away at nails, or sawing wood, and every now and then there was a blinding shindig or great scuffle; however, over the course of his existence as a ‘Havener, the sunbearer could not recall he’d heard such a ruckus from a single being’s clothing. Hence, he was a tad perturbed by the guest’s disquiet, as it was a foreign sonancy he had not grown accustomed to, but only for a moment. Allowing himself to ease up once more, he’d propel a welcoming smile as the rather large feline encroached. His opposite’s size did not discompose Wendell quite like the cougar’s attire had, for he could see that the goliath gent meant no harm. Kurosaki Ichigo was his apparent title - or in reverse order, if the male was of Japanese descent as his name suggested. He’d learn many facts about many cultures throughout his time of extensive travel, and that naming format was one of them. Another matter that he had discovered was that, in a conversation, it was customary for the local to make the outlander feel at home. Thus, he carefully slide one of the two glasses over, the action compounded with an approachable "Why don’tcha put your feet up for a bit, eh?". The blade-decked feline had also made an inquiry about Wendell’s duration of stay in these parts, to which he’d comply by answering; ”My name’s Wendell, Wendell Harrowsmith, and I’ve been ‘ere for a good month, now, though I’m not sure for how much longer.”. Following that climactic statement, he’d fixate his chocolate gaze on the horizon. One of three things were going to happen to him - he’d grow a pair and endure the hardships of war, he’d leave due to the disturbing state of turmoil, or he’d get killed by some rogue Ascendant. Wendell hoped not for the latter, and wished for the initial, though the future had a track record of not giving results that anyone had thought of beforehand. ”What’s it matter?”, he’d swiftly ask, realizing that Mr. Kurosaki has not inaugurated their conversation with a ”how are you?”, but a ”how long have you lived here?”. From that, the mustelid assumed that Ichigo was wanting to get to a certain somewhere with this.

(Oh goodness I could never do what you do on mobile!! That's amazing that you can make posts so long! And thank ya!)

Ichigo was used to getting stares with the gear that he commonly wore. Back in the other clans that he was from, there were times where he would actually be scolded for using a sword and blade instead of his actual claws. While to him his sword was an extension of his claws, and majority of the time he didn't even use it unless he was on the losing end of a fight. He did enjoy fighting with a blade that could slice through most flesh and slice off limbs, but it had also other properties to it then no one really knew about it and probably no one would ever know about it either. There were few animals that were alive that actually knew his secret and what he was. Majority of those that did learn ended up dying eventually from their knowledge, either by the corrupted spirits that were always after him or by some sheer bad luck that they just simply died at the end. Becoming close to the Shinigami wasn't the best idea, but it was only talking to others that were keeping his sane alive. The wildcat didn't care what others often thought of him. He didn't care about pleasing others and often went out by himself without asking for permission. This could get him in trouble, and he couldn't imagine how many times he had been down in the rut with nowhere to go and his friends had help him out of it or he simply had luck. Ichigo didn't always have the gear that he had. When he traveled down from the mountains that he grew up in, the wildcat only had a katana with him.

The sword that was on his back has taken on a very different size and shape back then. as soon as he approached a clan with the sword strapped to his back they looked at him as if he was going to become a threat and kill everyone that approached him. He wasn't a fan of killing anything that wasn't a spirit. And it wasn't really killing, he was cleansing and helping the spirits when he cleaved through them with his blade. He wasn't a killer, despite what his demeanor might give him out to be as well. The Shinigami then was able to acquire black armor from a friend that had made a couple pieces of armor for the clan. He remembered the male that had done so, the male going by the name Riptide. He and Ichigo didn't have the greatest relationship with each other thanks to their different attitudes towards the clans. He was fairly certain that the guy didn't really like him all that much, but Ichigo didn't really much care. He had been the one that provided the armor that he wore even this day. Ichigo taking it upon himself to try and patch up things that were cut off or broken during the processes of battle. It certainly looked like it had plenty of wear and tear over the years. The feathers that were once there completely gone, metal bearings and bits were missing completely, cracks in some portions of the metal of his armor. Claw marks could be seen, but there were no holes. Ichigo had taught himself how to sew and could fix the leather parts. If he wanted to try to, he could use his fire elementals to metal sections of the cracked metal back together, but he was paranoid that he would end up messing something up as he didn't have the metal knowledge on how to fix stuff like that.

The newest addition to his armor would be the metal plating that wrapped around the back portion of his neck helping him in defense to attacks on the back of his neck. The addition also hid the scars on either side of his neck where an animal had sunk its fangs into his neck. Either side was done by two different individuals. Ichigo rarely ever took his armor off, as he had experience of the worst happening literally at any moment. His bi-colored eyes looked at the wolverine that was sitting in front of him, and while he was waiting for the other to speak, he was able to gaze into the other's soul and aura. The other's soul was one solid color. Red. Red wasn't always considered to be a bad color when it came to souls. Now when it came to black colored souls, it was usually some form of corruption, hence why one section of his own soul was an inky black. The soul was young and full of energy. It was pure. It didn't seem to be tainted or damaged in any way. That was good to know, and Ichigo began to relax a little bit more in the wolverine's presence on that discovery. The Japanese swordsman couldn't help but raise his eyebrows when the other told him to sit down. He was being invited to the picnic? Ichigo seemed to hesitate for a couple moments, the way the wolverine spoke reminded him of one of his friends. He raised one of his tawny paws and stepped onto the blanket, and to make himself a little bit more comfortable he craned his neck and grabbed the hilt of his sword.

He could hear voices in his head saying that he shouldn't be doing this, but he didn't really care. He moved the blade slowly in case the other was concerned about the blade, before setting it back onto the grass next to them and not on the blanket. Ah, that was better. Now he didn't have to be using his powers to carry the sword. Ichigo's eyes settled back on the wolverine once he sat himself down, curling his long tail around his paws. "Thank ya." Ichigo said casually about the other allowing him to sit. Ichigo did have some manners after all. Then he turned to look at the glass that was pushed toward him, he wasn't sure what liquid was inside of it. He had been poisoned before, and never really enjoyed the experience. "What kind of drink is this?" Ichigo asked curiously but didn't show that he was suspicious. He just wanted to know what he was drinking after all. Ichigo also knew that poisons could have fumes that were just as deadly, and therefore didn't sniff the glass. Ichigo leaned back on his haunches as the other introduced himself and for how long that he was in this clan for. A month huh? That was plenty of time to get the hand of a clan at least. When the other asked him why he had asked the question, the Shinigami shrugged his shoulders before speaking. "I was just wondering why so many people are tense around here. I can practically feel it everywhere, and there was mention in the meeting about the Ascendants and Pitts being a problem, do you know what that is about?" He had been through so many wars, he didn't want to go through another.

Re: shake the old way + ichigo - toboggan - 10-23-2018

+ BLESS YOU FOR SAYING THAT, it really makes me smile Smile) however, your posts are probably some of the longest i’ve ever seen, so i try to keep up the best i can!

The outskirts of his maw soon emerged as the housing spot for the faint details of a grin at the precise moment of Ichigo’s peaceable advance, rounded ears cocking upwards showing a bliss which had been suppressed for a mighty fine while. Inasmuch as Wendell’s profession not being that as a soothsayer, the wolverine could not truly understand how others viewed him as a clanmate; yet, he could guess, and, strangely so for a self-proclaimed optimist, these guesses weren’t too high-thinking of him. The Brit’s hunch was that the general public at least looked down on him, originally because of his species, then the hypothetical repugnance fuelled by his distaste for the conflict regarding the Ascendants. Along these lines of self-belittlement, positive vibes were virtually non-existent in the mustelid’s recent days, instead living through hours of moodiness, boredom, anxiety, and heebie-jeebies. So, upon Mr. Kurosaki’s easeful approach, it made Wendell’s day - nay, it made his week.

Watching the cougar’s locomotion accompanied him with a sensation of relaxation, and the feline’s act of removing that oversized sabre put the sunbearer an even greater amount off edge.

Established in a seated position on his throw, Ichigo spoke, inquisitive about his drink’s contents. Huh, Wendell must’ve been absentminded when pouring the glasses, for he had forgotten. It was an alcohol of some sort - ah, that must’ve been what the swordsman was after. He understood just fine, drinking wasn’t everyone’s game. "Inside that glass is either a brandy or whisky, one o’ the two. I can getcha a a new glass if ya don’t want it," he’d acceptably conjecture, making a motion with a paw of knocking the mug over, ”I got a lotta drinks, some even without hootch. s’That what you want?”. Assuming his memory served him correctly here and now, there was a plentitude of hard liquors, spirits, cocktail beverages, bottles of beer and cider, and just plain fruit and berry juices (which were mostly used to twist cocktails), all contained inside that straw basket he companions himself with. What could you say? There was a scarce amount of traits that he forever retained, and Wendell could honestly admit that being prepared was one of those traits. It would be a lie if one were to say that he was unprepared to continue with the cougar’s conversation, and it would be another to state that he had no idea where it was going. Ichigo was new around here, likely confused on the whole issue surrounding the Ascendants and such.

And Ichigo did continue with the topic, and was indeed questioning the whole aura of the situation.

Like mentioned before, Wendell was prepared.

”Oh, that?” the wolverine started, beginning his partially-rehearsed speech, ”I’m glad you sat down, because it’s a long story, full of plot twists, and surprises- just kidding, it’s really a few groups who don’t like each other because of a silly reason, and both are hypocritical in their own ways. The Pitt’s just a bunch o’ wazzocks, always were; they drove me from my old home in Snowbound. You can expect some shite from them. What makes me gripe is the Ascendants, and how... how stupid this whole situation is. They’re a peaceful bunch as is, kinda have a blind taste for justice; us here in Sunhaven made the mistake of giving them a taste of their own medicine.” Following his beginning paragraph, the strongest part of his rant, he’d reach for the cup of his own and take a swig, the flavoured rum slightly burning his throat. He’d continue, hoping this wouldn’t drag on too long and scare away his companion.

”Our second-in-command, Bucky, the one with a metal leg, was accused of murdering one of the starlovers - and was proven innocent. He killed nobody, and I know it’s so. Problem is, the Ascendants went through a lot of trouble to punish Bucky and put him on trial and stuff, to which we did not comply. And then, after the whole thing blows over, we go in and want an apology for the injustice. We get none. So, we drop them to neutrals. Afterwards, two of us get killed - in the exact same fashion as those seven the other day, so we start an easily preventable war, which may have been halted if some stupid leadership decisions- if some better choices were made by both parties.”

He’d stop to glance at his contact, hopefully unfazed by his heartfelt tirade. ”... Sorry if I sorta lost it just there. It’s just so hard to live life without worry of dying a pointless death anymore.”

+ okay i had too much muse and time on that one

(Of course! LIke i'm not even kidding, if my only option is to use something mobile to post, i will literally refuse to post at all and will wait till I get to a computer xD)

It was rare for Ichigo to immediately dislike someone that he came across. There were a couple times that it did happen, but as long as someone didn't wrong him he usually kept a neutral outlook to things. Ichigo had a very calm attitude to most things that would happen, although he could be grumpy the majority of the time. It was hard to be happy about something when there was constantly death that followed him directly behind him. That was the job of a Death God though, and there wasn't much the cougar could do about it unless he wanted to try and die and hope that he was reincarnated to not have his powers anymore. Ichigo knew how that went and refused to lose his powers again as long as he could. It had been a traumatic experience for the cougar, and the memories of the nightmares he had of everyone dying because he was powerless still played in his head. It wasn't that he really needed all of his powers, but what he needed was his abilities to be a basic Death God in general. As long as he could see spirits and souls that's all that mattered to him. Either way, over the years he had a collection of enemies that would love to see him dead or be tortured for the majority of his life. The three main groups being the Chains, The Baskervilles, and Hollows. The Chains were more of a threat because of how powerful they were and how strong they were compared to him. They had always seemed to be several steps ahead of him, and it always pissed him off. His involvement with the Chains had basically been on accident. The interaction between him and the leader happening almost at random when he came across the female that basically tortured someone and threatened to kill them if he got too close.

He tried to move quickly enough to save the innocents life but it was no use when the other dragged her claws through the animal's neck. A battle ensued after that, but he was a lot younger than he was and didn't have as many abilities and so was defeated in battle. As soon as he began to interfere with the group, they decided that they would do everything possible to break his will. Such as executing his best friend by decapitating his head right in front of him while he tried to fight his way past three large dragons as only a medium dragon. Lacie was still on the list for threats to look out for, despite Ichigo thinking that she may not have survived this long all things considered. Ichigo's hopes were usually wrong so he tried not to think about it. It was almost three years now since the last time he saw a Chain. One had actually joined the clan that he was leading a couple years ago, and he had let him join but kept a watchful eye on his actions. They were always trying to cause trouble. The family that was part of the Chains were called the Baskervilles. An extensive family that always had da lot of powers and always sent others to do their dirty work. He knew every Baskerville that he met would immediately hate his guts whether or not they had met him. They knew the stories that he had and how dangerous and annoying he was. He hadn't seen a Baskerville in a long time, so maybe the entire family line had died out. He would be far too lucky to actually have something like that happen. Hollows were a lot more common and possibly something that the wildcat saw every day. They were corrupted spirits, created from souls and ghosts that spent far too much time in the world of the living. Staying in the world of the living meant that Hollows would seek out those souls and ghosts and devour them, making them a lot stronger.

Only certain weapons could only pierce the body of a Hollow and if someone didn't have the right spiritual energy could be entirely visible and never be seen by a regular mortal. They were also well known for the white masks that covered their faces and the black portion of their body. After being the organization that helps level out the Hollow numbers, it meant the Hollows with mental capacities were able to hold a grudge against him. It was a sub-type of Hollow that had managed to kill him almost three years ago. He was lucky enough to have been reincarnated after that death. Those were the three groups in this world that he immediately would either become violent with or immediately think of the worst of them. He wasn't as fair as he used to be thanks to all the family that he had ended up losing, but still. There was nothing that Ichigo thought of Wendell that was ill will. The other was young and didn't seem to have anything bad inside of his aura either. One that Ichigo could trust. The Shinigami watched as the other's soul shrank slightly as he relaxed. That was a good start. He wasn't a bad guy after all. As the other began to explain the drink though, Ichigo did his damn best to pretend like he knew what the other was saying. The Shinigami knew nothing about alcohol. He knew what sake was because of his Japanese origins and some of his Shinigami comrades drank it during celebrations. It was almost odd to say at his age that he had never touched alcohol in his entire life. He heard of stories of people taking advantage of another because of the substance and simply stayed away from it. Ichigo opened his mouth to say something, before closing it again. An embarrassed chuckle escaped his jaws as he raised one of his paws to rub the side of his neck, his paw brushing up against the metal portion of his armor that protected the back of his neck.

"If you have something without alcohol that would be preferred. Sadly I don't drink." Would drinking probably fix a lot of his problems? Most likely. But he had witnessed what the substance could do to his friends and he never wanted to get to that point. Maybe eventually someone would be lucky enough to get the Death God drunk. Ichigo moved his paw from the side of his neck back down on the blanket again. Then began the story of what was happening between the clans. He had to admit that there was a lot of information to cover with what he was saying. Over the course of the story, Ichigo's facial expression remained somewhat neutral, although the talk of murder did make his brows draw in slightly together. Ichigo was intent on listening to everything so that he could indeed get his facts straight and didn't seem bored at all. Ichigo would make a mental note about the Pitt, the group sounding like another group from the clans that he came from that was nothing but violent and just wanted to cause trouble. At the mention of Bucky, Ichigo could feel the small ache in the back of his head again. The wildcat didn't know why he looked at the other he got somewhat angry for no reason. Ichigo had no idea it was because of the fact that his memory was being blocked off of his daughters killer from the clans he came from, which just so happened to be Bucky himself. When the wolverine finished talking, Ichigo shook his head but let out a low sigh. Why did he have to pick the worst time to belong to an area like this in the middle of a war? "You didn't lose me. The story sounds fairly similar to how other wars have been started over the years. Careful consideration could have stopped the needless bloodshed." Ichigo agreed with Wendell almost 100%.

He was once a leader himself, twice, and he did everything in his power to stop a war. But when a war was obviously created by an enemy and the evidence supported it, there was a means to defend themselves. The Shinigami raised one of his paws and rubbed the left side of his face in a tired manner. This was the last thing that he wanted to deal with. "If word got out to other areas, and you mentioned this place called the Pitt, it could mean that they could be playing both parties. It's not uncommon for a third group to try and instigate something between other clans just to get them to fight and waste resources for them to come in. Especially if they can manipulate their scent and put it on the corpses which is what seemed like happened earlier. Also, trying to go the Ascendants place asking for an apology was the wrong idea. The clan obviously was upset with the outcome, and trying to get an apology would just make things worse and wouldn't be given when they thought they were doing the right thing in the end for their clan." Ichigo stated calmly, but this didn't give them the answer that they needed. They needed to find the killer and to keep more death from happening. As a Shinigami, he shouldn't be getting involved with such trivial things. But he wasn't just a Shinigami at the moment and the Organization wasn't just watching over him either. The more death there was the more likelihood for a Hollow outbreak that could easily kill an entire clan.

Throughout his tale, though dismayed by nature, no grimace mushroomed unto his mug, not a single furrowed brow hooked downwards. There was no point in getting worked up over an issue one could not change, the wolverine understood, as all energy concentrated on ranting was inevitably wasted. And, for anything to actually come of the matter, it was often not account on the being which angrily raved, but someone else who’d decided to take thr subject and force out an outcome (Wendell had lacked the capacity to do so, obviously).

The inert expression which had previously made a home out of his minuscule profile all but remained as Ichigo took control of the topic; an earnest gesture such as a nod or a soft ”mmhm” presenting itself whenever the cougar brought up a point which the Brit couldn’t help himself but agree with, an outcome that reoccurred on numerous openings from the male’s start to finish. Judging by how ebullient his counterpart was in taking up with the mustelid’s scoop, a feat that definitely earned him a few fondness points, Wendell could tell that Mr. Kurosaki was an experienced man himself, to such a degree in years that was very much beyond his short three. It was indeed possible for the Pitt to genuinely be playing their cards, and have motives in being a nuisance to Sunhaven on account of the group’s status of war. War weakened any prosperous bunch, and Pittians feast on the weak; it all made sense, and was not completely beyond the bounds of chance. As the feline continued, more signs of approval proceeded his noggin, all until his response came to a climax, one that was twain satisfying and welcomed. "What’cha just said there, I agree with everything you just said," the wolverine spoke, his lips fresh from a glass pressed against them, ”those in charge were pushy, and the Pitt are a bunch’a numpties in need of a good conk; I just wish there was something we can do, y’know?”

Ensuing his finishing question, the mustelid replaced his now-empty glass with the one meant for his guest, stuffing away the exhausted goblet into the wicker-work basket. Next, his movements were focused on retrieving another glass, one drop-free of liquid, thereupon fetching the total of non-alcoholic beverages he had, laying out the thirst quenchers abaft the lone clear vessel. The creature had a knack for serving drinks, and saw it as an art form, though he’d never found a good opportunity suitable for his unnecessary expertise. Without opposable thumbs, like those humans in the same field, the Brit developed his own methods of nimbly conveying a bottle or two as if they were toys, and not directly causing a spillage in the process. Today, no fancy flips or stunts were pulled, though a void of his usual clumsiness might have been noticed- by a being of which properly understood Wendell. ”Got a buncha stuff,” he’d state in a puff, ”juice, water, soda, virgin cocktail accessories, a soda ‘r two.”

His deep eyes fixated upon his clientele, relying on him for an answer. ”If you don’t want anything, that’s also fine. I just find talking’s more enjoyable with goodies - speaking of which,” the mustelid spike as he rotated himself towards his straw container once more, ”got just about one o’ everything in here, snack-wise. Hungry?”.

Talk could wait for the time being; what he said was true, food made everything better.

Having to constantly watch his friends killed in front of him usually ended up with Ichigo being extremely paranoid. He had to watch over 20 friends and family die and sometimes had to witness their deaths that he would do everything in his powers to avoid having that happen. Which was easier said than done when the clans themselves were completely violent in the first place. Ichigo would be more than willing to risk his own body to help his friends if they were in any sort of trouble. One could almost consider him selfish as he never wanted his friends to do something alone when they had friends that could help them, while he would openly refuse any assistance that would be given to him. He was selfish in that regard, and because of that he ends up with a lot of stress always on his plate that could easily be solved if he just asked for some form of help. Not only did Ichigo have to worry about the enemies that had come to hate him over the years attacking those that he cared about, but he also had to deal with himself as a threat entirely. When he was younger, he couldn't control the corrupted spirit that was inside of him. There was no one to teach him how to either, and he realized that if he wasn't going to do something that he would end up dying. Not only would his own soul die, the corrupted Hollow would then take over his body and use it to attack anyone that was close to him. He had a great fight and conversation with the Hollow that was inside of him, fighting inside of his mind against the beast that so badly wanted to rip him apart. The beast called him weak and that he shouldn't be commanding over his power if he was going to be too weak to win a fight against him. When it came to Hollows the majority of them were one track minded and didn't seem to care about all that much as long as they could get strong. They were power hungry. Ichigo wasn't power hungry, as he had enough power to get the job done if he really needed to. There was an instance where the Hollow inside of his head was causing him to hallucinate, and he had a panic attack while inside of the cave that was serving as the clans camp at the time.

His hallucinations made it so that everyone that he looked at made it seem like they were rotting away. The Shinigami wasn't capable of holding the Hollow back, luckily one of his other fellow Shinigami was living in the same clan, his name being Keylime, and the other shifted into a large body and managed to knock Ichigo out. One of the best methods of getting Ichigo back under control was to knock him unconscious so that it was basically resetting his mind and it gave him a time to calm down. It was when he finally had to fight the Hollow inside of his head that he ended up injuring his best friend at the time, Silverstrike. She had been looking over his body while he was fighting inside of his head, but when one fought against their inner Hollow, their physical body became possessed and would attack everything around the surrounding area. Later on, there was an accident during a battle with his fellow Death God's tring to take down a Hollow that was problematic. They soon found out during the middle of the battle that the Hollow was capable of infecting anything that it touched. Keylime ended up getting infected with a Hollow and Ichigo had to watch as time went on as his best friend slowly became overwhelmed with the Hollow. Ichigo knew he had to do something before it was too late and watched Keylime's body while he was fighting the inner Hollow inside of his mind. It was one of the ways that Ichigo got the bite mark on the left side of his neck from when the jaguar had sunk its fangs into his neck. Ichigo didn't blame Keylime at all, and the other had managed to survive the ordeal. Something that Ichigo was extremely happy about as it was his fault the other had gotten infected in the first place so it was the least he could do to help. The other bitemark on his neck was left by Crackedstar, the female having been that of a vampire. Ichigo didn't blame the lion for attacking him, but he had scolded the female saying that if she had just talked they could have just talked about it somehow and helped each other. Ichigo just wanted to help others in the best way that he could, but sometimes his help was overstepping boundaries and could make situations easily worse than it would have been if he had just kept himself out of it. Ichigo could endure the pain if it meant helping others.

Ichigo watched the other's reaction to what he said, and the other seemed to approve of most things that he was talking about. Ichigo usually spoke from experience, but he also wasn't the smartest guy out there either. He had a lot to learn despite his life already being halfway over, at least for his age as a cougar. Ichigo had no accurate idea of how long he was going to live for. Ichigo could also understand the decisions they made in the heat of the moment. He was sometimes spontaneous with his decisions when he was younger, but he learned to slow down a little bit more. "Its understandable why they did what they did, but there's also a chance that the Pitt may not even be involved at all. I think the most we can do is make sure the borders are safe and try to track down the scents are left behind. Although considering how large the pawprint was that was left behind its probably a large wildcat. Maybe tiger or lion, or even something that was once extinct." Ichigo stated calmly, making sure to address the size of the attacking for Wendell's sake. The other was smaller than him, but that didn't mean the other couldn't have powers either. He didn't want the wolverine getting hurt just because he said a couple things. The Shinigami watched as the wolverine went through the hard work of getting him another glass, and Ichigo felt a little bit more embarrassed of the other being so considerate of him. Having someone that was nice and caring wasn't something that he came across often. He usually just had the voices in his head to talk to, and no one else. He had certainly been lonely during his journeys.

At the question of what he wanted, Ichigo thought for a moment. There were very few beverages that he had ever tasted before, usually sticking to water and that was about it. He raised one of his black and tawny paws as he rubbed the left side of his face, his bi-colored eyes trying to figure out what he was going to chose. Finally, he shrugged again, a small grin on his features. "I think some juice would be fine with me. And it's certainly nice of ya to prepare all of this for those that came by. I've been to parties where there was plenty of food and drinks everywhere." Ichigo said, remembering the times where parties were put on for allies. He had never been the sociable type and did everything he could to avoid going to parties, and he still did. Ichigo always tried to keep himself busy so that he wouldn't have to worry about it. The basket itself seemed to almost be endless when the wolverine was moving through it, and Ichigo couldn't help but let his eyes widen slightly in surprise. Even food? That was crazy! "Damn it's almost like that basket is completely endless with what it can hold." Ichigo stated in a teasing and joking manner. Something that he hadn't done with someone in a very long time. He was used to poking fun at his friends that he had bonded with, but it had been an entire year for him to just have a regular conversation. At the mention of if he was hungry, his Hollow was quick to chime into his head. [color=crimson]"I swear if you don't eat I'm going to get some food myself and shove it down your throat. This is my body too you bastard." The Hollow growled as the other knew that he hadn't been eating. Understandable. Ichigo had to keep himself from rolling his eyes at the empty threat the other told him. He probably should eat. The Shinigami leaned slightly on his haunches as he relaxed more on the blankets. "Sure why not. Watcha got?" The former leader asked casually, tilting his head slightly to the left.

Re: shake the old way + ichigo - toboggan - 11-04-2018

Here he was, a pacifist at heart, having never harmed another being of any sort, jovially mooting with a being about thrice the size of him whom brandished a blade that must’ve slain many. They were an odd pairing indeed, though the circumstances held a very homely hunch in his heart. Concerning Wendell, quite a few aspects about him could be considered odd. There is his appearance, an oddity in today’s world of felines, canines, and dragons. Another odd thing to consider about him was his main goal in life - living in peace and only that - contrary to others’ daydreams of wealth, power, and destruction. Did the wolverine take it to heart when another referred to him as unusual? Of course not, subsisting as extraordinary was a hundred-times better than retaining a status of ‘ordinary’. It had not been written in pen on his short bucket list to stand out, though his conflicting political views elected it as a surefire possibility.

Oddly enough, between the curious duo had occurred, and is still currently transpiring, what was perhaps the best conversation the mustelid has participated in for what felt like six months; and they had only just started.

His glance slightly lessened as Ichigo brought up the border, casting into the mind of Wendell memories of the scuffles which had went on along Sunhaven’s shared circumference with the Ascendants, and how he’d feebly try to put an end to the fighting with insignificant words. His woeful glare restored itself virtually at once, however, for the cougar had mentioned the topic of an extinct species, compelling Wendell to quip,  "Nothing’s extinct these days, I find,", pouring a bit of water unto a sprouting smile. ”Justice’ll arrive in due time,” he’d linger on the topic, this stanza a tad more serious, ”I just don’t want t’ interfere with the professionals’ work and cause more issues, so I’d rather watch from the sidelines, and provide my commentary if need be.”

Whilst reaching for a juice, like Ichigo had suggested, a grin on his mug re-emerged as the swordsman made a comment revolving around the basket’s seemingly unsurpassable storage. The straw-woven hamper indeed appeared quite small from the exterior, but on the inside - ”Well, it can certainly get quite snug, sometimes!” At that time, he’d fetched the beverage, a hearty composition created from a variety of berries, blended together to form a somewhat sweet taste. In no sooner than five seconds, the glass, meant to be Ichigo’s, had been filled, and slid across the throw-blanket, hopefully in reach of the feline’s lengthy limbs. ”If my memory serves me correctly,” he’d begin, now speaking about the foods which inhabited his endless container, ”’ve got some pastries that I either purchased or made (I forget), a few fruits, and a few chops of meat that I’d prefer roasted, but I know a few people around here are fine with raw stuff.” Once the cuisine situation had been completed, then discussion could continue; talking on an empty stomach wasn’t a pleasure.
