[font=trebuchet ms]The fact that Bastille was walking around like nothing had happened so soon after almost dying was, frankly, astonishing. In fact, the only sign that anything had happened to him was that his voice was still raspy. Part of Rin wanted to demand more explanation for why he had turned up strangled half to death on their border, but she suspected he wasn’t going to give a proper answer no matter what she did.
With a sigh, Rin took a seat and listened in. There were the newcomers and promotions, of course- Joel, Luna, and Marg were all deserving of their new positions, and Pele of her shout out. ”Welcome to the newcomers, and congratulations to the promoted,” she offered softly, her ears twitching.
The next announcement, however, elicited a double take from her. She had heard about Beck accepting their offer, but she hadn’t seriously expected Bast to still want an alliance after what had happened to him. Still, she kept her mouth shut- she would likely ask him about it later, but not during the meeting. Ambassadors were a worthy initiative to take, and she wasn’t unwilling to volunteer, but she doubted Bast would want to send the medic on consistent trips outside of the territory. She would be sure to take a weekly task, though.
The titles were a clever idea, and Bast had clearly put a lot of thought into them despite his depressed state. Even Rad was positively acknowledging them- a rare sight from the other medic. With a small smile, Rin said, ”Noted, Seraph.”
