Ares heaved a sigh as she fell back against the doorframe, thin frame leaning on it for support. God, where was she going to begin? She'd have to move houses after a while. Maybe when she was older, more responsible. But she was responsible. She was polite, quiet, mature now. But only because if she showed any emotion, anger would surely break through and she'd be back where she started, an angry thing that was bent on that damned sword.

Amber eyes searched the shambled house, a groan leaving her mouth. "Gods.. where do I even start.." She pawed at a piece of wood, halfheartedly dragging it outside. Her body shook with a force because she knew. Knew what happened. Knew what she was. Knew what she would forever be. A monster. That's why Aurum kept her confined in the town, right? "Because a monster needs to be in a cage, needs to be trapped."

She gritted her teeth, moving debris out of the way to reveal the sheath. Ragged breaths. Shorter, shallower. No. No. She can't let it get out. Or maybe it was always out, maybe she was always the monster. Even from birth. She stood there, staring at the sheath, as these thoughts ran her head.

Claws dug into the sheath beneath her and Ares moved her head slightly. What did he want? Her tail lashed, though a slight pain shit through the tip. Silently she collected herself, placing the sheath against the wall and picking up another piece of wood.

She motioned to the clutter with half-lidded eyes before dragging the wood piece outside, ignoring whispers from other tanglers and the worried stares they gave her.
