Aizawa wasn't sure what to tell him, really. He knew that Harrison wouldn't be nearly as big as he was--he probably wouldn't be even as big as his adopted father. When he was an adult, he'd still be small compared to the lion, but he couldn't tell him that. Even if he wanted to, it would be hard with that hopeful look on his face, full of child-like wonder. So he chose his words carefully, not wanting to disappoint him but also not wanting to falsely lead him on. "Maybe. As long as you eat right and stay fit, you'll be a big cat in no time,"
It definitely wasn't the whole truth, though he was helping him, in a way. At least he'd eat well with little complaints. Jacob should probably thank him for it--or he'd get angry with him for lying to his son. Either one was plausible.
