She could see the potential in this place. As she so often did in dead and rotten things. The air was rancid and hot, it filled her strong lungs with an uncomfortable heat with each breath. The place certainly smelled rotten. It must've been beautiful at some point, but now the empty corpses of scorched trees haunted the area. Their feeble shadows only offered a desolate and forsaken feeling to the place, not even shade.
Whatever, this is fine. The woman has dealt with harsher conditions before in far more hostile environments. As she always said, warmth is better than cold for creatures like her. The sun could beat down on her back all it wanted but it would not slow her down. She was a determined creature and ever-persistent in her goals. Whatever they may be.
The smell of rot would flood her senses and the soft sound of rippling water would reach her twitching ears. She would come upon a nasty body of water, a wide crimson river. Disgusting. Even if it was filled with blood it certainly couldn't be safe to drink. She would rather turn around than let that touch her pelt.
"Filthy," she would mutter. The jaguar would stand on the bank, far enough to make sure the water couldn't splash and hit her paws. Perhaps her gut was wrong, would it be possible? One of the earliest things she learned was to follow her intuition and the calling in this direction was incredibly strong. Who was she to not listen to it? Was it her ancestors or the insufferable spirit of her father? There had to be a reason but whatever it was she was doubting it.
Her head would look from the right and the left hoping to find a way over the water. All she needed was a surface to jump onto. But no branches would reach of the murk.
