Upon hearing the arrival of an ambassador, Valerius felt obligated to show up. Though late, he was confident in his peers handling his duties and showing off the Descendants of the Departed's ideals. He merely managed to hear the tail end of the conversation as he approached, noting that Meteor had handled the majority of the conversing to his father's delight. Nevertheless, the leader looked over at the other lion. His gaze looked them up and down. So... this is what The Pitt wished to present? A strong front with a desire for neutrality? How interesting.
Running his tongue over his teeth, the leader contemplated his next words carefully. In truth, he did not believe in neutrality, but he believed they could benefit off one another. "Weaponry and armor would be lovely," he started off with. Valerius was open with his intent to profit. "If neutrality is all you seek, then we can make that happen... as long as you continue to provide resources." The lion peered over at the rest of his crew, hoping they could comply with that.
Another idea sprung into his mind. They wanted obsidian to make weaponry and armor, but that left more for the Descendants of the Departed to desire. "We can provide any minerals for your use if The Pitt would be open to assisting with... let's say.... raids and battles," he offered. His browline raised, questioning if the other would agree with those terms. Night of No Stars was no leader, but perhaps Olalla had mentioned terms beforehand that would allow them to accept that reality. If not, Valerius would gladly make an appearance in The Pitt.
Valerius chose not to introduce himself in the end. His demands and negotiation tactics gave clear indication of his status... At least he thought so.
