There wasn't much trouble here, the panther came to conclusion as he laid for once on the warm floor. He was rather surprised. Although a slightly devious crew he had gathered enough intel to find out that they had just been raided. So perhaps he should take this peace for granted. It may be his last moments in a long time. Huffing, Kydobi stretched. He had reached his goal of finding a jungle, and as long and tiresome it had been it still was a task. It gave him purpose. But what did he have here? Sanctuary? Sure. Responsibility? None so far other than abide by the laws which was easy enough.

He had to keep himself busy, because if a beast has no purpose to occupy himself he steadily degrades. And it was of his nature to keep himself in tip top shape. Efficiency was key to survival. And so he began to groom himself. First he started with his toes, removing any dirt between the plush paws and then eventual washing himself with his whole paw.

In solitary peace but not completely closed off to the idea of company.

//Apologies, I've been busy configuring the new site layout and platform.

When it came to their newest guest, Jervis was rather uneasy. Their sheer size towered over him, but yet their calm demeanor seemed to prove otherwise. Even so, he was weary. The fox had never liked those larger than him, understandably, and had always taken them as a threat. Even those 'more intelligent' were throw aside. That, though, was Jervis' life motto. Always had to be better than the rest.

To see the panther across the way as he was walking made him frustrated. They were licking themselves. Grooming was normal, as all animals did it, but Jervis was letting his ego reign once again. Nevertheless, the fox took it upon himself to walk over. "Why hello there, Kydobi," he echoed from a ways away. "How are you enjoying your stay so far?" A smile appeared.

The faint sound of gentle paw steps alerted the feline to his company moments before Jervis spoke. He put his paw down and looked at the man with eyes of amber and molten. Funny how something so volatile can be used to describe such a docile beast. Kydobi dipped his head in his usual fashion.

"I am doing well. It's nice to be in one's natural habitat. Although there doesn't seem to be a lot of members.", this would be the perfect chance to learn more of this place.

"I've also had a few questions if you wouldn't mind me asking.".

So many. He wondered how this little fox gained such power of the land. Did he have secret gifts? Was it through honesty? Or darker methods? There was a glint in the canines eyes that told Kydobi that ignorance was a blessing. But the truth never hurt.

Well, he decided, that's subjective.

The fox nodded along with his words. As with most foxes, the forest was his species home but the jungle had suited him better and had always been his personal home. He could understand going to somewhere familiar though. "How swell," he echoed back. "But yes, we are rather lacking in some areas. Other things do tend to make up for our losses though." Whatever that may be.

"Feel free to ask," Jervis commented. Kydobi would need to watch his wording to avoid accusations that would throw him into a temper tantrum.

[OOC: oof, I'm sorry orion. I hope it gets better very soon!!!! But you know what is funny? The idea of Jervis throwing himself on the floor and screaming in a tantrum]

Now what would those be? The compensating characteristics? But Kydobi decided that Jervis' lack of detail told him he shouldn't pester.

"Well, for one... How do you plan on rebuilding the numbers? I've come to understand that we've been to war recently? And if you don't mind me, we're one of the more despised if not the most of the groups... So it's important that we acquire a sufficient army. Because certainly there are those conspiring against us..."

He seemed to lose track near the end.

"Actually, I'm more interested in whether or not you have a right-hand. I'm sure a man of your stature is busy with much more... Imperative tasks. If you would like, I could be your man. Assist and complete the lesser tasks. Watch over the borders when you're gone. I wouldn't say I'm.. Ambitious. I just don't want the jungle- where I live0 to be in the clutches of someone who will kick me out. Or kill me.".

His tail swished. Maybe his proposition got muddled in the details. Eh.

SELF-ENTITLED
// Oh don't you worry. I'm waiting for the perfect moment for the facade to drop. ;^)

The first question had already taken a toll. Jervis' expression visibly soured at the mention of their despised reputation, consciously hoping that they were praised instead of disgraced. It didn't help that their borders were on lockdown currently either. The ardent had taken it upon himself to betray and undermine every clan before him in hopes of improving their situation, so to anyone it would seem obvious that they were disliked, but Jervis thought it only made them stronger. It showed that they were a force to be reckoned with. Perhaps, though, he was wrong. For as intelligent as he is, he is still delirious enough to deny his faults.

Upon listening, he interjected after the panther's first segment. "How do you think I should do it?" Jervis remarked. If his plans weren't 'good enough' then what did their newest wise-cracking jaguar have to say? "My plans, according to you, are not working apparently." Jervis was gladly going to take all of this personally. It was in his nature to be self-absorbed and try to project his problems elsewhere.

At their next proposal, the ardent listened thoroughly. While he was always open to assistance, someone invading his personal plans and getting close to him was unlikely, especially from such a new figure. Ruling singularly seemed like the best option currently... but leading on Kydobi wouldn't be bad either. Jervis really considered the option, only nodding in response as they finished talking. "I'll think about it," was all he muttered.

[OOC:

ahahahahahaha!!

Kydobi: iM gOnNa hElP jErViS mAkE wIsEr dEcIsIoNs!!

jervis: @!#%6 6^% DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO

also I'm unsure if the "break Kydobi" plan will work anymore :/ development has occurred. But!!! He may be able to make Kydobi do things for the sake of Ky giving him his word. @JERVIS  ]

Kydobi flicked his ear, the sharp tone did not affect him. Internally, however, a flame sparked. He was slightly irritated at this spoiled little fox. How did he ever come to power? Debauchery no doubt. For no sane man would appoint him as such.

Kydobi held back a snort and stopped slouching to look down at the fox. Passive aggressive. But polite. The type of shade to be exchanged at upper class tea parties. A bunch of bitter house wives with backhanded compliments and ambiguous criticism.

"Well, my grand Ardent... I wouldn't be so quick to fight. Everyone is our enemy. The Typhoon? Really. A bunch of pirates... Their word is as good... As good as ours.", he paused to let that sink in, taking a moment to sigh.

Now reel it in Kydobi, don't be rude... Get your point across, "I don't believe there is anyone to fight for the position to lead... Other than Ardent."

he looked into the foxes eyes, "But that is not what I want. I want to work with you and under your command. Don't you understand..." He thought, he needed to appeal to the fox.

"... That they envy you! People don't fear those they envy. They don't sit idle and cower either. They want to see them come crashing down and burn. "

Men like you never last long.

"See now... Perhaps we should try to fix our image? A facade if you will. I've heard we may or may not hold slaves, not that I've seen any... But perhaps we- you should formally announce of our 'changed' ways. A new leaf."

Kydobi flicked his tail, trying to gauge the vulpine's reaction, "But turning a new leaf does not make us weak. We can be the snake in the bushes. People will join us because they no longer fear being enslaved and murdered... Save a couple loners... provide them a home. Make loyal soldiers. Tale of our decent deeds spread. The others will ease up a little. Maybe make a few alliances, and keep our word long enough to make them believe and long enough for us to gather vital information... Maybe plant a few spies And when they let their guards down... When we have the numbers... When we known their weak points and strengths... We snap." He drilled his jaw closed, ivories snapping to dramatize his statement.

He smiled softly, "And they all will bow to you. It takes a smart one to plan it Ardent. But it takes a man of the utmost... masterful expertise and skill to execute it. I believe you are that man, Jervis. But two heads are better than one, even if you're one of the smarter creatures I've ever met. No man of high stature walks alone. Or without security."

Now Kydobi was trying to stroke his glorious pride. Swell his ego. But his words lacked the overly sweet & artificial words that ass kissers tended to have. They sounded genuine. Only because he believed that his plan would work.

In all reality. Kydobi felt that when, hopefully if, it all came to fail under Jervis' rule that someone could maintain the Pitt. Already he was on relatively good terms with the Rosebloods. So if Jervis dies, there is a good alliance. If Jervis kicks him out. He always has them to run to. He had already been offered membership after all.

But he had a mission.

And he belonged in the Jungle.

SELF-ENTITLED
[ Sounds good with me! That works just fine. ]

Jervis listened, golden eyes staring down the jaguar intently. His muscles remained tense. What Kydobi had to say interested him, but would it ever sway his opinion?

'Everyone is...'

Then what made Jervis think Kydobi was his ally? If everyone was his enemy, then what about Kydobi shined out? The ardent was hesitant to listen to the jaguar's words, unable to comprehend putting his faith in another animal. There was never a person who hadn't betrayed him after that. There was no winning.

'Our enemy.'

He did not catch Kydobi's meaning beneath his words, noting that they were hand in hand with their point of views. Even so, he was still focused on his enemies. Priorities were always focused towards him and if his enemies weren't necessarily tied to his clan, then so be it. His reign was not honorable. The vulpine would not admit that he was selfish and pretentious in his ways, but instead wanted to pride himself on his leadership.

But then his ego was being stroked. He felt himself slipping away into Kydobi's words as his muscles loosened and his expression relaxed. The thought of his clan bending the knee excited him. Never had they obeyed his word to the tee, nor had admired him. They always thought they had another plan that was better than his, something that they thought he couldn't understand. Somehow, though, there was someone before him telling him differently. If only he changed a few things and remained in the shadows, The Pitt would succeed.

The red fox lightened up. His head craned to show his interest to Kydobi. "You most definitely make a compelling point, sir Kydobi," he answered back promptly. "A facade it is." They would need to rebuild their relations, presumably with The Typhoon and The Rosebloods. On the other hand, Tanglewood was a lost cause. With Crow Roux on his tail, they were surely not going to mend their ways, but he believed Goldenluxury Roux could perhaps drop her own hate in exchange for his loyal facade. Even so, they were already running that facade. It wasn't long before The Typhoon found out that The Pitt still had slaves.

Someone by his side was debatable though. At any time, someone could go behind his back and stab him. Still, Jervis just smiled devilishly and nodded along with the dark cat's words in hopes of pleasing him. "Sounds like things could work out between us," came his sly comment. "Perhaps even for the best."

Now all he had to do was find out where Kydobi could fit in his grand scheme... Whatever that grand scheme was. That required some time set aside to think though and with that, the ardent stood up straight. "I'm glad we could of had this discussion, Ky." He offered a low dip of his head. "I think I will need some time to think these things out and we can discuss further propositions later." And with that, he was off into the darkness again.

[OOC: ]

The weight and consequence of what he had just proposed suddenly hit him. Not immediately, no shock came first. Truth be told he hadn't actually thought that Jervis would agree with him.

"Oh..good.", he wasn't sure if Jervis would act immediately. Even so, how would the fox go about it?

But one thing was sure, if this plan succeeded then all the deaths and casualties could be blamed on Kydobi. He swallowed a lump, dipped his head and wandered off.
