innortis had certain dietarily needs, he couldn't eat anything but meat- and while some chose not to eat baked goods- it wasn't much for chice of the ghoul. It just... was. But, the newly welcomed snow-bound memeber didn't think it much of an issue to try and learn how to bake- more specifically- bake something that he could eat. Breat tasted- normally like some sort of dry sponge that disolved into ash in his mouth. But if he could incorporate... blood, just enough of it, maybe he could try and make it tolerable- even nice.
But firt, he had to learn how to bake, and what to replace the blood with. It was a protiene- iron rick liquid that was unusally thick the longer it was left out. It would scab or turn dead if cooked without a lttle water or oil. He knew that from previous experince, but anythin else? Not a bit.
So, in a smaller little aben, the smell of growing yeast, burt bread, and fresh coppery tinge of blood. An overall odd cobination- but hey- he was trying okay? There was no real reciapie for a ghoul, as most expected them t just conform to their diet, but not inny! He did find something with blood and honey being a very good par off, which he had tacken to the exreme.
red honeyed scones with mixed in raspberries were the first batch, and while most where - unfortunately, burned- he managed to save the three in the center. The rest were tossed while three sat on the table. Neck, was a bloody pumpkin cupcake with honey crumble, and this one turned out better- with most of them saved. (while most of them had to be scrapped at the bottom to get rid of char. oof) he would consider most of the day worth the while, even if it was a little unorthodox.
now he mixed a warmed jar of lion's blood with honey- because hey it was good mix- thank you very much. and pulled one of the frostinless cupcakes and dipped it in before trying it out. Hmm, still bland but the dip was good enough to tamper that out.
The aftertaste, unfortunately, was still ash. But- for a first try- it wasn't too bad.
