[align=center][div style="text-align: justify; width: 60%; font-family: georgial; font-size: 11pt;"]Having spent a week or several (admittedly he'd lost track) rehabilitating his rattled brain, his first day of being able to properly explore and enjoy the new sights and smells should've been something spectacular after being cooped up in a stuffy room. It had been anything but, however. Talks of the new guy being around had long since died down since his mandatory absence and for the majority of the day he'd been left to figure out where everything was through his own devices. With nothing else to do and no tasks waiting for completion on the day, it wasn't the worst outcome in the world, Ren could at least take solace in the fact that some independent searching proved his proficiency to anyone who may've been concerned about it. Halfway through the solo patrol however, he'd began to feel chilly, and a feeling of being watched. The feline hadn't analysed the situation too much, with members of the clan being plentiful and the winter just a few short months away, it was easy to justify the feelings without delving into superstitions. As he arrived home though, things had started to get weirder.

Hot air was blown over an ebony ear as he was about to enter his home, Ren's whole body stiffening. Who the hell had done something like that? They were far too close for comfort... it was creepy. Swallowing a lump in his throat as he prepared for some confrontation, the feline turned his cranium, grey eyes widening in surprise when it became clear that no one was around. Slowly he turned his gaze to look at the other clanmates, figuring that they were a bit too far away to be messing with him. No one had a smug or guilty look on their face either, it was rather confusing. Goodness, what was going on? Choosing not to indulge his worries with the rest of the living for now, Ren quietly sighed and continued onward. Just as he placed an alabaster paw on the door, he heard a loud slam from behind him, this time being unable to act so cool in the face of eccentricity. He whipped himself around, head tilting at the sight of metallic trays on the ground. Ren'd seen them before, they were surgical things, but what were they doing here on the floor?

Now he was truly confused, and being unable to stay silent for any longer, the cat gave a quiet mew. "Hello?". No answer, not even a giggle or laugh which suggested that this was a prank by a clanmate. Perhaps his concussion had been worse than he thought? Seeing and hearing things was a side-effect wasn't it? Ugh, he couldn't remember, he wished he'd paid attention in medical training sessions now. Things went quiet yet again, and begrudgingly Ren chose to ignore his doubts, and turned one last time to rid himself of such strange imaginings. "Reeeeeeeeeeeeen," a drawling voice called to him, causing that familiar shiver to shoot right through his spine. "Reeeeeeeeeeeeeen," it sounded more playful this time around, like a distorted call of a littermate wishing to rid themselves of their youthful energy. The feline dared not turn around to see what was tormenting him so, back arched with alarm at such an odd situation. Normally he'd be used to such things, it was nothing that couldn't be justified, but this was too new for him to take in a stride. "Come play with me,".

Nope. Nope nope nope nope nopety nope nope nope. As soon as it sounded like the floor was scratching, Ren strode over towards his room, but before he had a chance to kick the door shut with a hindpaw, the entity that chose to haunt him had slammed it shut. The loud clang could be heard all throughout the corridor, yet Ren still refused to turn around. He was safe here, even as he heard his name being called from behind the door it showed no signs of getting closer. As soon as he was away from public view, Ren slunk down to his bed, fear turning his limbs to jelly now that he was away from his tormentor. Several questions were still left unanswered as he lay there staring woefully at the pillows. Who had done that? Why had they done that? Were they even real? A pause in racing thoughts caused the unassuming feline to unsheathe his claws. Sometimes it was best to just leave questions open, this time he didn't want to know.

[size=9pt]A wink of sleep was worth a billion dollars. If he were lucky enough to come across a zombie turned sandman, now, he'd make quick work of trading his brain for a dream. Hell, he didn't even care for a dream-- He just wanted sleep. But with his mind gushing memories and thoughts like they were an oil spill and he was the gulf of mexico, he'd been lucky to get more than an hour or two of shut eye, here and there.

It was when Moon had finished the meeting and various other new duties he'd been recently christened with that he dragged himself back to his room and promptly collapsed to the carpeted floor, an over-run golden retriever of a lion. His eyes drifted shut, heavy with such extreme physical exhaustion that he didn't even make it to shutting the door, and as his mind faded to that sweet, sweet black-red-blue static, the last thing he saw was the floorboards of the corridor.

    And then-- Slam.

Perhaps, had Moon had more patience - more sleep in his body, less of a short nerve and an overactive mind - he would've dismissed the slam and tried again at slipping back into the blank void of sleep, but, alas, he had all of those things and more. So the lion groaned in the way a sleep-deprived teenager would, dragged one paw down his face, and from the floor of his room, promptly roared, "Who the fuck is slamming doors?"

[align=center][div style="width: 500px; text-align: justify; font-size: 9.4pt; line-height: 1.4;"]Gabe hadn't slept properly since...Well, since he got back from The Typhoon. The headache was a serious plague by now, and though he knew he should talk to someone about it, he couldn't bring himself to do it. He was doubtful enough of it that he figured whatever remedies he'd get wouldn't work, or they wouldn't work for very long; he should just cope with it. It was only a headache. A brain-splitting, mind-numbing headache, but he'd suffered worse, so his biggest concern was just managing to sleep. Maybe he could knock himself out, though with his luck, that'd only worsen the pain and leave him unfortunately conscious. Even better- he could find one of the spooky shits running rampant and ask them to take his soul from his body before the headache did. What difference was there?

Gabe was pacing in his room in repeated circles, just about wearing down a path in the carpet in the hopes of exhausting himself enough to sleep, but the unfortunate part about that was how trained he was to keep going even when past the brink of complete fatigue. Trying to beat conditioning would take him a good long while, and maaybe he'd be lucky enough to fall asleep walking. He'd done it in the past.

Of course, as soon as he got into a good rhythm, there was a loud slam that echoed down the hall, a pregnant silence, and then Moon shouting. Exhaling heavily, Gabe didn't even bother opening the door, simply walking through several rooms and then poking his head through the wall, into Moon's place. "Try shouting louder. I don't think everyone heard you."
