EDWARD NYGMA
WHAT AM I?
Can’t see a dang thing.
The first few days, Edward’s eyesight had been fine. It seemed that Strange had put him in the form of some vision impaired gibbon just to mess with him. Maybe as a cruel joke.
Ed hung from one of the branches on the forested mountain, eyeing the next one with a squint. He’d set up a routine, if he wasn’t at his cabin, he was hanging around here. His new instincts had warned him the ground wasn’t safe.
With animals that had wings, neither was the sky. Ed had taken to the forest, hanging from the branches, sometimes upside down if he was feeling adventurous.
He... just didn’t feel comfortable leaping tree to tree yet.
"I mean, that’s what you’re supposed to do. You’re an animal now! Take over!” His other self sat on the branch, staring down at him. "You haven’t even gotten clothes yet! You’re still naked!” As if to rub it in his face, his other self whipped around, now in a dapper green suit and bowler. He waved his arms, showing off, then took a fake step off the branch, swinging to hang upside down with Ed.
"Come on, get some clothes...”
"I will! I just haven’t found any fabric yet, and I can’t fucking see!”
He other self laugh, taking, waving a finger back and forth. "Don’t be so sure.” He pointed at a package on the ground.
Ed looked around for hazards, then dropped down, approaching the package.
To Edward.
He couldn’t find the strength to open it with his hands, and had to resort to his teeth. A pair of glasses, a bottle of pills, and a note popped out.
He put the glasses on, shaking at how clear the world was now, then looked at the note.
Ed,
Sorry to make you into an experiment. Your brain is quite fascinating. Here’s a bit of compensation.
- Strange
”Bastard,” He cursed, crumpling the note, and inspecting the pill bottle.
This was the hallucination generating stuff, the good stuff.
"Question is, will that keep me in or out?” Ed hummed, opening the bottle and sniffing, rereading the label. He put the bottle between his teeth, then climbed the nearby tree, and staring at the next one.
He leaped, hooking onto the next one, holding the glasses onto his face.
He took out the bottle, then laughed in joy.
