Alexander didn't know how to "properly" react in most situations. Where there would normally be an action you were left with the child essentially pulling a malfunctioning Windows computer, frozen in place and if you looked closely, you could see the Blue Screen of Death in his eyes. His strategy mostly was to simply stare at the problem or the thing until it went away, and he wouldn't have to deal with it anymore. Sometimes that worked, sometimes it didn't.

In this case, he supposed there was nothing else to do, even for someone who had a grip on the concept of reacting accordingly.

He'd only been hunting, a rabbit in his jaws for anyone else to eat, he wasn't hungry. That's when he saw it, of course, he was out on his own and that's when all the strange things happened. Something caught his eye and when he turned, just down in the line of trees where he was sure this fresh corpse had darted out from. Silvery white, legs longer than his body surely, staring him down with a sense of intimidation. Some...equine, was it? He'd seen a horse only once, believed he belonged to Hazel. But in the wild? Never. Except maybe...

Maybe once on his journey away from here. He blinked, and the creature made a run for it. Smelled something, maybe.

    SUITE
    HEART
    Perhaps the creature scented Suiteheart.

The white feline was out of it. Exhaustion tugged at her body, at her bones, and at her soul. She needed to sleep, to rest it all away, but she couldn't. She had a job. She couldn't just abandon everything to take care of herself. The members of this group were far more important than her own health. Besides, if she pretended like she wasn't tired, it would all work out, wouldn't it?

"Hey, Xander," Suiteheart greeted, suppressing a yawn that had found its way into her system. She let a smile rise to her lips, but it quickly fell when she noticed how far off his eyes seemed. She moved forward, waving an ivory paw in front of his face. "You alright, kiddo? You look like you've seen a ghost."

[div style="background-color:#806A71;width:90%; overflow: stretch;text-align: justify; font-size: 8pt;"]"Did he see a ghost? Did he?" Asked Oni curiously, trying to see over his mother's shoulder by jumping, only to see the familiar form of the wolf he'd taken kindly to. Alexander didn't piss him off, which was good.  He tolerated the boy, just like Alex probably tolerated him in return.

The chocolate feline slipped under his mother's legs, crawling to sit in between her front paws, tilting his head to the side. For his age, he was so tiny. So skinny. And to think he ate a lot, too!

Alex blinked, snapping out of his trance when Suite waved a paw in front of his face, immediately dropping the rabbit he was holding. He rubbed his eyes, offering a sheepish smile to her and Oni soon after. He wasn't quite sure of how long he'd been staring off into the trees, or how ridiculous he probably looked. "No, not a ghost. I hope not." He was not a fan of the dead stubbornly walking the earth, ethereal or not, so he hoped there was no hauntings to be had around here. Though he wouldn't have been all that surprised. It was just....so strange here sometimes. "There was something out in the wood." Brown eyes scanned over the tree line again, squinting slightly. He wasn't crazy, and couldn't say he was one to hallucinate. Lord knows what was in those trees.

"Suiteheart, do we have any....horses around here?" He asked, looking back at her and her son hiding down by her paws, a sight that earned a genuine smile. How precious for someone who declared battle against the sun and was quick to pick up on vulgarity. He couldn't exactly do the same, he could carry them both though, probably. "If I find a ghost, I'll be sure to tell you."

with grace in your heart and flowers in your hair
Ghosts...Hazel had seen ghosts. Ghosts in the form of smoke and mirrors, not sheets and spooky noises. Her ghosts came in the form of scars and nightmares, or echoes and trailing whispers down her spine. Ghosts were supposed to haunt, and Hazel's ghosts haunted so vividly she could hardly tell if they weren't real.

As for her horse, Arion rarely ever strayed from the plains of the middle of the territory; he'd spent nearly a month in the woods, weaving his way through tree trunks and foliage. Hazel had been with him, night and day, watching as he struggled to find a place to stretch his legs. She'd felt awful, knowing his muscles cramped. So stumbling upon the open-plained peninsula hadn't been much of a choice when it came to picking a new home.

Hazel joined the small group, glancing between Suite, Oni and Alexander right as the older boy of the two present asked his question. "Yeah, we have a couple horses. Two that I know of. Mine is Arion, and he's usually trailing after Octavia, Bastille's filly." She blinked at him, shrugging. "Why?"

"I saw one." Alex answered simply, blinking with a slight tilt of the head. So he was right in his assumption, that one did belong to the girl. He had yet to see Octavia. He wasn't that surprised, after all, it was a wide open space, plenty of room to roam and eat and whatever else horses did. "It was...white? Maybe grey." A bit of clarification, he knew that creature was not Arion. It was too wild, too strange looking.

He squeezed his eyes shut for a few moments, making sure he wasn't losing it. "Maybe it was a ghost. Horse ghost. Host. Aha." He laughed quietly as his own dumb joke, hoping it came back so they could see it.

    Agent Washington
former human - freelancer - manipulative
Washington didn't know a lot of different animals that existed. There was a couple that he could recognize, but if he didn't it meant that he was going to head toward the books. Or get some type of computer to have him look up exactly what it was. Which was easier said than done as working a computer when he had paws instead of fingers was fairly difficult. The Freelancer didn't really have an idea of looking around at a bunch of the different wildlife. He wasn't here for vacation after all. The Freelancer also didn't know what animals existed in this world and what was extinct. It seemed like everything went as he was alive and he was in the body of an extinct animal. Again, how that was possible Washington had little to no idea and often times would just try to ignore it all and just continue on with the rest of his days. He knew the territory like the back of his hand, but the different type of animals that were around in the outpost was basically impossible for him to tell. Besides, he only went patrolling at a certain time of day, and all animals had their own inner schedules of what they were during depending on what time of day it was.

Such as it wasn't common to see a deer out in an open field if it was hot out, as they would be sheltering in the trees instead. He had done some research, but since he had a military career and not an animal one, meant that he was limited on the knowledge that he did have. The armored smilodon tried his best not to look like an idiot and continued to try and remain confident during his time here. He needed to make sure that he didn't show any form of weakness and rarely relaxed around others either. It was a habit because if he was still a human he would be doing the exact same thing. He distanced himself from everyone, and there was a reason why he did something like that, but only one would be able to recognize if they knew the symptoms that he was exerting, but most didn't. Because he didn't allow them to. The less the knew the better off they would be anyway. Washington didn't dislike animals, but having to deal with the constant random stuff that happened all the time was certainly tiring. It also didn't help that he wasn't getting any sleep, something that he was grateful that he had his helmet on all of the time so he didn't have to worry about anyone seeing exactly how tired he was with his helmet off.

No one needed to worry about a soldier, he always bounced back to everything that happened to him. It was just going to take time, and since he was stubborn, he figured that they didn't have all that much time, in general, to simply goof around and hope that everything was going to set itself back. Washington let a sigh escape his jaws as he was walking through the territory portion of the Canopy, the most common place anyone can really find him. Washington blinked his golden eyes behind his golden visor as he saw animals that were gathering around. When that happens, its common for Washington to investigate so that he isn't out of the loop of any news that he hasn't heard yet. While he was making his way out, he heard something large moving in the trees and turned his head to look over his shoulder. Making sure not to turn his head too sharply so he didn't give himself whiplash. Narrowing his eyes, however, Washington didn't see anything, and hesitated in his next step before coming out of the trees. His armor rattled on his approach, which usually signaled that he was approaching the group.

He was able to overhear a little bit of their conversation and the talk about horses. He knew what horses were. They used as symbolism during his first couple years in the military, but they didn't use horses anymore in the military so they were usually just kept around as pets. He never remembered being around them as a child, but he had heard stories of them and that was all that he was going to go off of. The Freelancer sat himself a little bit of a distance away from everyone else, and it sounded like Alexander saw something that was there and gone the next. Washington knew that feeling, but often times once the thing disappeared it tried to kill him from behind. Definitely a different experience than from what he went through. He flicked one of his ears inside of his helmet as he shrugged his shoulders.[b] "Don't horses live in a variety of different environments? The lush terrain of this outpost could provide food for many different types of herbivores." Washington was talking out of his ass. He had no idea what he was talking about, and all that he was using was the common sense of what a deer or herbivore would need to survive. He knew absolutely nothing about horses, but despite that, he seemed to be confident with what he said.

    ★ Heterosexual
    ★ 3 years | Birthday | Ages realistically
★ Ascendants |  GUARDIAN [sHP] | Freelancer, Former Human

    IMPORTANT FACTS:
★ Agent Washington always wears his armor and never takes it off. Which means no one knows what his face actually looks like.
★ He hates being called any sort of nickname, preferring for his full name to be used when addressing him. He will constantly state so, as its just how he's used to being talked to.
★ Agent Washington suffers from insomnia and auditory/visual hallucinations.
★ The armor that he wears is extremely tough, there are some spaces in between the armor, but if someone were to hit his armor it would not break.
★ Due to his experience when he was a human, he prefers working alone and not counting on others to help him in a bad situation.
★ Washington will not trust your character. No matter how nice they are. He will not tell them anything until getting to know them.
★ His current goal is to turn himself back into a human, as he doesn't want to be a cat forever. Because of this goal, he is less likely to offer assistance to the groups.

    RECENT EVENTS (oldest-recent):
    ★

    PHYSICAL:
    ★ ARMORED SLATE GREY SMILODON FATALIS [birth/main] | health: 100% | Reference.
580lbs. Agent Washington is a species of Smilodon, roughly the size of a lion. Washington is different compared to most Smilodons due to the strange coloration of his fur. That being a dark slate grey compared to the regular tawny of a simple smilodon. There are faint spots that are visible around his back legs, but only when the light hits it in a specific way. Not only that, but Agent Washington wears titanium alloy armor, making it extremely durable for taking hits and can be used as a means of bashing an enemy. The armor color itself is slightly lighter than that of his actual fur color. He wears a chest plate, that covers his chest and half of his back. Then there are shoulder plates that cover his shoulders and his arms protecting the front half of his body. There is a gap between the shoulder plate and the rest of the arm plate of his armor. His shoulder plate is a yellow, making it stand out from the slate grey armor he wears. Washington also wears a Spartan Helmet resembling that seen in the Halo series. The visor is a reflective gold and having a yellow line going down the middle of the helmet. While he wears armor, one doesn't notice the extreme amount of scars that cover his body, that has transferred from the time that he was a human. Scars ranging from those made by knives, bullets, and blunt trauma. Since his armor doesn't cover the lower half of his body (flank, and back legs), several scars can be seen uncovered in that area. Even though no one has seen his face, if someone were to see his face, his eyes are a deep gold color with blue wrapping around his pupil. The blue is a result of the trauma from a failed AI implantation when he was human. There is a scar on the back of his neck that branches out almost like a lightning bolt, and its barely visible as his helmet hides the majority of said scars. Being a Smilodon means that he has long incisors, but it seems for some reason someone had filed down his incisors, making them useless unless he can put enough force into the blow. However, since he wears his helmet, its impossible for him to use his fang to attack. Leaving his powers and paws as the only offensive means.
    - major injuries: none
    - minor injuries: none

    PERSONALITY:
Once being immature, goofy, and charismatic, Washington was changed completely after the implantation of a computer inside of his head that nearly caused him his death. He is a soldier and hasn't been anything but a soldier in his life, making sure to follow the rules as much as possible. He believes loyalty is everything, and unless given a reason to he will not betray anyone. He is extremely serious and will work himself to exhaustion before trying to relax. Thinking that he must be prepared for everything that will be thrown at it. He prefers to be alone, but that just puts more stress on his head due to the factor that his mental stability is almost nonexistent. Washington is an expert when it comes to regular military strategies, and he almost knows nothing of the clans and how they work. In his mind, he is only on an alien planet and they potentially did something to him. He knows that he needs to get back to the project once the ship had crashed, but now he is actually in a different world. His only plan is to figure out a way to find his goal, and if that means he has to kill anyone in his way to get the information he will do just such. Washington suffers from different lapses of hallucinations and this can be easy for him to snap toward others in a violent manner. Being a soldier, if all else fails he will use violence at his full extent.
