Rosemary sat on the beach. She’d been meditating for so long, the sand had become wet beneath her front paws. The waves crashed in front of her, always within a meter but no closer than five centimeters, and the water diffused across the white sands.
She opened her eyes—all four—and gazed at the sea. The cloudy sky dulled the ocean, but allowed her to gaze on the navy blue without eye strain.
Stifling a yawn, the ocelot’s ears flicked. Her mind felt clear and her body less stressed after the meditation. Since nobody had come to get her—she’d left a note in the temple and notified a few pirates—Rosemary supposed she shouldn’t feel guilty for taking time out of the day for herself. Even if it was to do nothing but listen to the waves crash against the beach for her grounding meditation.
A glint in the waves caught her eye exactly when she turned her head to leave. Her forked tails flicked as she trotted through the wet sands to get a closer look.
The shinning thing bobbing in the waves was close. Carried closer to the beach by each wave, and as she looked, she saw its glass body and gold filigree. Perhaps… a message in a bottle?

PEACEFALL
peace comes at dawn, but yours comes at night
I FEEL SO HUNGRY —
— Dear diary, I don't know what's going on, but something's up / The dog won't stop barking, and I think my TV is bust / Every channel is the same, it's sending me insane / And earlier somebody bit me, what a fucking day / The sky is falling / It's fucking boring / I'm going braindead, isolated / God is a shithead / And we're his rejects / Traumatized for breakfast / I can't stomach any more survival horror / Dear diary, I feel itchy like there's bugs under my skin / The dog's gone rabid (shut the fuck up) / Doing my head in —— WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING?
