Rosemary glided down to the Palm Glade’s camp, descending into the shallow valley at such a slow speed only a moron could mistake her for an aggressive intruder. The woven basket on her back jostled when her white paws touched the soft sand; she sent it with a wave of her paw to rest beside her.
Sighing, Rosemary tilted her head and stretched out her back. A white paw hid some of her teeth as she yawned, but the sleepy look in her four eyes betrayed her tiredness. Long flights were tiring during the best of times, but the last week hadn’t been the best of times. Regardless, she thought she’d go mad if she stayed another night in the Typhoon, waking up to another morning with so much of her family missing.
“Hello, Gladiators?” she called, as she fought a second yawn. “I’m here to trade. I’ve brought books and guaraná to trade. I think you’ll like the fruit—it’s not medicinal, but it is a tastier caffeine alternative to teas and coffee, at least to me.”
Her basket, indeed, overflowed with red fruits with strange eye-like markings. The books’ titles were obscured, but most of them were romance or adventure stories, rather than useful medical resources.

PEACEFALL
peace comes at dawn, but yours comes at night
I FEEL SO HUNGRY —
— Dear diary, I don't know what's going on, but something's up / The dog won't stop barking, and I think my TV is bust / Every channel is the same, it's sending me insane / And earlier somebody bit me, what a fucking day / The sky is falling / It's fucking boring / I'm going braindead, isolated / God is a shithead / And we're his rejects / Traumatized for breakfast / I can't stomach any more survival horror / Dear diary, I feel itchy like there's bugs under my skin / The dog's gone rabid (shut the fuck up) / Doing my head in —— WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING?
