~ ☼ If there was one thing that had hit Onyx hard after her promotion to discens, it was the realization that life...it could be unfair sometimes. It seemed a bit obvious, now that she really thought about it, but when so many stories ended in happily ever after's, when things had gone so well in her life, it was a startling realization. She had never been expecting to experience loss so early, she had always thought that her mom, that both of her mom's would be around for a long time, for years and years even. It was hard, and she hadn't really been the same ever since, as much as she tried to keep herself upbeat, it didn't always work out. Things...things were getting better though, her training was going well, she was making friends, having fun, and...her mom would have liked that, would have wanted this for her.
Things were moving on for her, and as they did, she was once again shown that the world could be so much harsher than she thought. Winterhyms family almost seemed to be cursed with the amount of injuries that had happened in just the past month alone. First it was Wyvern and the flooding incident, but at least she hadn't been hurt all that compared to the other two, then it was Mazekit. Mazekit's accident...that could have gone so, so much worse than it did, and if anything, the hybrid was just happy that he was alive, that no permanent injury had come from that. Swordkit...his had been the only injury that hadn't been an accident, the only one that had been done on purpose, and just the thought of that made her blood boil. Mauling someone so badly, someone innocent, she couldn't imagine why anyone would ever do that, and to someone who wasn't even half of her own age either! If she ever found them, she...she wasn't sure what she'd do, but it wouldn't be pretty!
Seething quietly, her tails scrapped across the ground behind her as she approached her destination. Sword and her, she wasn't really sure if they were exactly friends just yet, sure she liked the little guy, but they hadn't talked too much yet. Either way...she still wanted to visit him, just to check up on him, make sure...make sure he was doing ok after all of that. Crimson gaze turning upward towards the house she had arrived at, she couldn't help but wince a bit when she saw him on the porch, leg still wrapped in bandages, terminating in a stump, paw nowhere to be seen, staring down blankly at a rubber duck. Hesitantly, the casilisk climbed the stairs up, letting her tails drag along behind her, just to make sure she didn't surprise him, she doubted he needed that after what he had been through. "Uh, hey Sword..." she called out, suddenly feeling a bit lost as to exactly what she should say, asking if he was alright didn't really feel right, she wouldn't be in his situation. You....how are you feeling?"
