Bastards.  Unfamiliar word.  Strange.  The petite vixen failed to heed a comprehension of such title, ears flicking in bemusement as she tilted her head up at the unusual creature ahead of her.  An unfamiliar word for an unfamiliar creature -- Aine failed to understand what he was exactly.

The young druid knew better to ask however, realizing the question would be rude.  Instead, she focused on biting the inside of her cheek, hazel hues staring, without direct eye contact, at the stranger.  A 'joiner', he'd announced.  Intention clear.  Future Pittian.

Her soot-colored paws gently shuffled atop each other.  "You'll 'ave to wait for... Our Ardent, I thin'." Was the rule still in place?  No one leaving?  No one coming in?  The child hardly saw the enation.  Exceptions everywhere.  Save perhaps, the leaving bit.

Not that that'd stop her at any point.  Friends in faraway places meant necessary travel.  But she kept that matter a closely guarded secret for the time being.  Ikaia was her friend after all.  Not someone else's.

Oh well.  Despite the confusing rules, the fae offered the stranger a shy smile.  "'m Aine though, what's your name?"

Because she is simply altogether too reckless.  The young fox's shadow took the form of a larger, black and red vulpine.  Similar hazel eyes quickly narrowed, tracing the form of the stranger 'Redvox' thoughtfully.  Indeed, he took a step in front of the girl, as he often did, entirely subconsciously.

"If you are something of worth to the Pitt, I am sure you will be permitted to join," considering the Irishman had yet seen someone turned away immediately.  Naturally he recalled threats upon their own arrival but clearly the resolved matter settled in their favor; Gael possessed a place relatively sheltered by a hostile desert to raise his only surviving child.

Of course, raising a child completely loyal to the Pitt hardly sat in his own agenda.  Should he find it necessary, he knew he would feel no regret cutting ties to the place.  Consequently, he mentally scoffed at the word 'friend'; he hardly wanted her too attached to this place should events go south.  Aine seemed altogether too friendly in Gael's mind, for the entire world; shy and anxious but always willing to smile.  She'd only been lucky thus far, and he would remain to keep a watchful eye for every time to come.
