A task of tending the herb supplies became immensely simple when one's daughter decided to devote herself to a garden. Although he -- rather quickly -- realized half the garden only existed for beauty and butterflies, Gael felt pleased to see healthy flourishing herbs as well.
Assuming the child desired a continue pursuit in the healing arts, the vulpine realized the time for proper upkeep training began immediately. A garden, while wonderful for maintaining fresh herbs, only aided a healer so well. Especially, as in their case, it was not directly close to the clan's herb storage. In an emergency, a healer could not waste time running between a garden and the infirmary.
In consequence, the faerie carried a woven basket in his jaws as he inspected the garden, Aine at his side. "Only pull the fully-grown," he instructed, setting the basket down at the edge of the garden's circular pond. "And inspect the rest's health."
With no erudites among them, Gael realized the high likelihood of the temple's supplies being entirely outdated. All the better for the two of them, allowing a full restock and effective beginning to a well organized supply. Truth be told, the fox hardly minded the task of upkeep; a relatively simple but necessary job to keep his paws and mind at work. And the Pitt needs more focus on the defensive side of things.
"I want this to become weekly a habit, Lottie," he added eventually, voice soft. "Maintaining medical supplies is relatively simple in concept, but it is time-consuming." In most children, he'd expect the notion ire-inducing, yet Aine's dedication to her garden proved a fierce enough focus to him. "A weekly basis, at least. I'll help you do it, of course, but I'd like you to think of it as your job now, as the gardener after all."
"So I want you to decide how we will organize things later, when we take the herbs to the event temple. You'll be in charge, okay?" His hazel eyes glinted, a sharp spark of pride in their light.
"Now, I see you've split your garden in forths, so I'll take one side, and you the other. I'm leaving the basket here in the middle."
