It had been a long, drawn out night that the creature had gone through and it seemed as if those creeping feelings wanted to leech itself onto him through the dawn, and as exhausted as Artaxerxes was; he was determined not to let those creeping leeches stick with him. He already ha enough trouble with the flies.
The hot sun beat relentlessly upon his blanketed back, the deep maroon mushrooms once perky and lively now limp and soggy with death. A shame it was really, this months patch had been the biggest he ha grown. It wasn't his choice though, to grow them. If it were really up to him he'd say to hell with these plants. Although, the plants in question had been the only thing that made Xerxes, Xerxes. Coastal birds chirped and squawked loudly overhead, pulling Artaxerxes out of his train of thought; now crashed on the side of the tracks with steam bellowing from the top soon ready to explode all together.
Sand crunched between his toes as he padded around the beach. Which way had he came from? The West? The South? He couldn't remember, all he knew was that it was just as hot as it was there than it is here and for that he sneered at the heat. The sun was testing him, and he knew none of the question. Although, an F is better then not doing it at all, right? Crunch, crunch, crunch went the sand, hushed by the roar of the distant waves. Large rocks etched with years of age and beatings from the waves slowly came into view, and his pace quickened from a trot to an uneven canter. At least now he'd have some shade.
Slowly making his way over to the boulders, he plopped down onto his side within the shade and huffed a sigh of relief. Thank the gods,he thought with a grumble.. he was still fuckin hot though.
