Fragglerock didn't know how to swim. That fact alone wasn't all that surprising, considering how young he was, and his lack of old memories. At one point he might've known how to swim – although that was doubtful – but now he certainly didn't. The boy doubted that he would need the skill too desperately anytime soon, considering where The Golden Eye lived, but he thought it would be nice to be prepared. After all, they did have a river and a waterfall, and what if a flood somehow ended up happening? He didn't want to end up drowning just because he had pushed off learning. The entire line of thought had come from him approaching the river on The Golden Eye's territory, blue gaze glimmering as he stared down into the water. The fish swimming around in the water immediately caught his attention, their tails flicking behind them as they swam around in circles or headed down the river. It was a fascinating sight to the child, and he found himself wanting to replicate it. How was he supposed to start, though?

Eventually, he decided that the best way to start was to do. So, after taking a deep breath inward, Frag began to step into the water. Immediately the current began to lap at his belly, and he drew in a harsh breath of surprise, stumbling backwards. It took another couple of seconds before he started forward once more, his claws this time scraping and curling against the dirt at the bottom of the water. He muttered to himself as he lingered at the edge, the current occasionally shoving at him, "M... Maybe this isn't such a good idea..." Still, he didn't want to just give up quite yet. He took another long stride into the water, figuring that it would be fine. He had made a fatal mistake, however. His paw passed by the edge of the riverbed, sinking down where the water got deeper. He let out a loud yelp as he went stumbling forward, the front half of his body hitting the cold water with a splash. The next few seconds were a frantic scramble as his back legs pushed at what ground they could find, the child eventually managing to twist himself around. He practically went shooting up onto the shore, stumbling and coughing as he hit the dirt.

Laying on the edge of the river, the young rabbit found himself taking in greedy gulps of air, his back legs now covered in mud. He muttered softly as he laid there, a small grimace coming to his face, "I don't think I want to learn how to swim, anymore..." He wouldn't feel good about giving up so early. Then again... that had hardly been a pleasant experience, to say the least.

downstream was one who desired to fish, his claws tangling about the current, nose just above the water's surface, wandering through shallows where the snow melt had kicked up enough muck to cloud the streams of water. it wouldn't be easy fishing today, not without proper bait aside from his tail laying on the river bottom like a giant juicy worm. frowning as he wandered slowly through the gentle currents, cursing his luck as he was void of any catch, interrupted in his travels by a sound he wished he hadn't heard. a child's yelp and the crash of water summoned him quicker than any battle cry, tearing the tom from his fruitless fishing. bounding up the river to where the sound carried from, cold water splashing his underbelly and soaking his sides as he bounded onto the shore in a bid for better purchase.

the sound of water splashing brought the tom over in a quick bound, his tail a streaming banner behind him as he hurried to take in the sight of the water-drenched feathered rabbit, his paws taking him over in a scurry. he had only heard the retreat from the river, his own paws covered in muck from his own travels further down the river. approaching fraggle with a concerned expression on his face, his ears pricked forward as he caught his words. i don't think i want to learn how to swim, anymore ... had the child been trying to swim? slowing his pace with a soft puff of breath, he came closer to fraggle so he could see him, purposefully rattling a few reeds as he passed them with his tail, announcing his presence to the other.

crouching a distance far enough away for the youth to feel safe, he would sniff at him curiously, checking for any injuries, only able to hear his beating heart and fast breathing, his eyes sliding to half-lid as he settled close to him. swimming, huh? looking out at the water, he tried to make a purring sound before coughing with a quick turn of his head. couldn't even do that? brushing his paw over his mouth and eyes at the stinging pain, he would shake his head, ears flapping slightly. looking at the water, he stretched out a paw to make a swimming motion before looking at fraggle before getting up from his crouch. walking to the water's edge and sliding his paws in, he looked back at him with a questioning look. he was a bit bigger than the rabbit as he was, he could use his body as a blockade if the child wanted to try swimming again. tipping his head in thought, his gaze darted over the water's surface, searching for sticks and twigs. they could make a makeshift board for fraggle if he didn't feel safe being fully immersed in the swift current. it might be better to learn in a stream, but a river made for one hell of an experience.
