[font=trebuchet ms]She could hear more pawsteps, and hear Playerone's voice. Having a trained medic there was fortunate. Being patched up wouldn't fix things right away, but the sooner she got treated, the less likely it was for the wounds to get infected- and the better her chances of survival.
Playerone said to ignore them. Not talking was probably a good idea for the sake of her own health, but now that she'd opened the mother of all cans of worms in an attempt to defend Eirny... would the Elysites allow her to delay the answers they craved? Or would they take her lack of an answer, even if they knew she was injured, as a reason to wreak havoc?
Lemy's words faded into the background with the rest of the noise... until he asked if the gods would keep pursuing her. That would sound really bad if she didn't shut it down. She knew that the case wasn't as bad as he implied... or was it? Sure, they hadn't attacked any of the Elysites directly, but after the Ferryman had threatened Tena...
"She... killed the one," Rin uttered, her tail swishing to point in Eirny's direction. At least that was one part of her that wasn't in pain. "The others... knew since May..." That... just sounded worse. "Been hunting them myself to... seek revenge."
It was now, as she sat there, half-dead and in pain, that she was beginning to realize just how many boneheaded decisions she had made up to now. Shaking her head, and wincing at the resulting pain in her neck, she muttered, "I'll explain later." They'd wait until she was capable of speaking full sentences without wheezing out her words... she didn't like to make them wait, but it was doctor's orders.
