their paws had been absolutely trembling since the run-in with those in the pitt. left with their tail tucked and heart hurt, idyll knew not to expect the matter to be dropped quickly. their head hurt with anxiety as they returned. it was only a matter of time before-

"idyll? captain goldie sent for you." they flinched, a long sigh leaving their lips. the messenger shifted uncomfortably, unable to meet the sage's gaze.

"thank you. i will be there in a moment." they took a few moments to gather their bearings before padding toward the captains quarters, peering into the submarine's halls. "miss goldie? you wished to speak?" their voice was shaky as they tried to keep themselves centered.

it was difficult to think of the expectation put upon their captain compared to what may have been before she stepped up. idyllfields hadn't been here, only hearing stories of her younger adventures. the goldenluxury idyll knew was a grown woman. a mentor to them. a freedom fighter. liberator. all things that would not be associated with the childish, reckless child they were s often told about. part of them believed that, if they had known pincher, maybe that is who she grew up to be. a strong diplomat with only room to improve the world around them? not much was really said about pincher between crewmates, but from what minor traits idyll had gathered, he appeared to be very similar to their leader now.

if that were the case, they would hate to see pincher angry. if goldenluxury was still filling her fathers throne, the old captains fercosity must be a deadly force to reckon with. it couldve sent shivers down the coyotes back had they thought about it too long. now their attention was primarily occupied with their current captain.

at her invitation, idyll would ease into the assorted blankets. they took a deep breath as she began, turning down to their paws. as she explained bai shi's actions to them, how they had become an enemy. their chest felt tight when she pushed the fact they were not to be trusted or befriended.

"i… i do understand. but- but what of the minor details? bai shi told me they were there because someone from the pitt… murdered their family. could this make a difference in how you see them?" they sighd, leaning back into the blankets. "i've never felt so conflicted before... so torn."
