YOU ARE A COSMIC CHILD
Things had been decidedly dull since her homes had merged. Leadership had been spotty from day one, and a clan without a stable leadership was doomed to fail. It was fated to happen if something did not change. However she was in no position to make that change. She was however, in the position to make baked goods and healing concoctions. It was how she'd spent her time since Monroe had disappeared. How she worked through remembering her past, remembering that when she'd needed them most, her family had turned their backs on her.
Elio sat on the windowsill above her counter top, watching as the demoness worked her magic. A spoon floated above a hand-carved wooden bowl, butter and sugar going in as she stirred with the precision of practice. Vanilla went in next, a few eggs and then flour was carefully added to the mixture. A perfect dough, but it needed something. The smaller animal in the room went and pushed over a container of dried raspberries, and then a tin of white chocolate. Pele smiled at him, the containers being opened before some of their contents were folded delicately into the mixture.
An observer could tell it was a routine that happened often enough the two were almost in sync with what the other was thinking. A fluid movement, two bodies yet one mind. Elio pulled out the tray, beginning to form the cookies as Pele lit the oven with her fire. The bowl was soon empty and oven filled with soft baked goods. Pele took the tray out and Elio immediately went in for the dive, his friend floating him out of harm's way.
"You always do that, and you always fail to remember that that tray and those cookies will burn you. Didn't the first three times you burnt your fur off do enough?" He folded his arms, still suspended, rolling his eyes at the femme. "Patience is a virtue." Her voice carried a smile as he was released, a breeze blowing through the house and carrying the smell of fresh baked cookies outside.
