Looming war with Sunhaven and Rosebloods looked increasingly more like a possibility; indeed, Ninazu liked this potential outcome the most. How dare the damn bastards capture and torture her, after all. It took an all-out war to quench the thirst for revenge, but she'd start with picking off their members.

The lioness stalked through the more jungled bits of the enemy's territory, nearly silent among the clash of noise in the biome. Preferably, she'd go after one of their higher ups -- perhaps even their healer, if she could -- but right now she'd simply attack the first member she successfully tracked down.

bai shi had left their arena for a stroll around the new territory, the dragon sliding over the sands easily, eyes almost completely closed against the sunlight, eyelids flickering back and forth when sand got in the way. the nomarch of warfare was content, aware of their surroundings.

recently, in a visit to tanglewood, the dragon had been attacked on the muzzle, a few scales having been torn off during the slight scrape. the wound was a murky dull silver now, scabbed over after a while. they were unaware of ninazu's presence in the territory, the dragon sliding quietly down the "paths" they had created already, mind on other things.

Spotting what looked like an oversized snake with golden scales, the lioness momentarily paused in the cover of underbrush. Her ears flicked as she considered the fight; used to providing healing support for her group, the erudite learned to avoid taking risks. But the Rosebloods pissed her off, and the confidence of this new body made reckless moves more appealing. Besides, taking out a strong fighter of the group could only mean success for the Pitt -- and a feather in her cap, to redeem the damn stupidity of allowing herself to get captured.

Attempting to force the sands of the path to squeeze around Bai Shi's hind half of the body, she broke into a sprint. Using that move as a distraction to hopefully give her a moment of surprise, she tried to close in and jump onto their face, trying to score her claws around their eyes.

a noise of surprise slipped from the serpent's jaws, thinking themselves safe on the sandy ground. panic filled their gaze as the ground lapped at their legs. they had thought themselves safe from such a mishap.

turning their head, they startled at the sudden attack, feeling ninazu's claws prick into the area around their eyes. growling, they began to shake their head, trying to free themselves from the lioness and the sand trap. they growled, "I know that stench -- one of yours took my father!" they snarled, attempting to attack ninazu in retaliation with a strong buffet of wind.

The attack worked -- and the dragon thrashed, predictably. Digging her claws into the space between their golden scales, the lioness hung on with a low grunt. She didn't give a shit what the beast snarled at her, but the wind irritated her. Feeling her grip loosen as her eyes narrowed against the wild gust, she released her grip while attempting to throw one last slash at his eyes as she fell to the ground.

And then she hit the ground, shooting off to Bai Shi's right side -- trying to get out of the range of their head. Those tiny little legs didn't threaten her nearly as much as his fucking teeth. Lunging at his right leg, she attempted to breathe a plume of fire at him, right before slashing at the possibly burned area. Those damn scales were difficult to slash through, but she had a few tricks to try as a counter.

a pained roar escaped the dragon, serpentine body twisting as they tried to escape the lioness. the slash narrowly avoided the eye, gouging the scales beside their eye.

the fire would scorch the scales on their leg, singing fur and hair alike as bai shi would give a mighty shake, twisting their body into a roll away from her. getting onto their feet they would coil to breath a gust of hard wind in an attempt to knock the lioness back and maybe trip her up a little.

Her teeth snapped the empty air as the dragon rolled out of her range, and the lioness leveled a glare in return. But the dragon appeared terrible at combat -- or, at least, less aggressive than herself -- as she felt her body pushed back against the gale. His air didn't hurt; if anything, it only slowed her down and made the erudite pissed off. Darting to the side, out of the cone of air, she breathed a sheet of flame at his ass. If he wanted to keep her at a distance, fine, but she'd quite literally barbecue his butt for it.

a hiss left the beast as the flames ran over their tail and hindquarters, leaving a smarting "injury", the gleam of scales showing through the singed fur and hair.

they growled, pulling at the air around them with their element, pulling into a tightly spinning ball of air, launching it at the erudite in an attempt to wound her in return, somewhere, anywhere.

they might appear laid back, but they were waiting until she grew tired, tired enough that even they would feel tired. snarling a taunt jer way, they moved in close enough to bat another ball of wind, this time with some desert debris wrapped up in it as they spat in her direction.

If he wanted to outlast her, he needed to throw more than desert debris at her. Growling as sand and the odd plant piece thwacked around her, the lioness decided to just fucking end this and drag his body back to the Pitt -- exhausting, sure, but he was putting too much of a fight. And using mental manipulations would just leave her far too open for a serious bite or other wound if she failed.

With the decision made, she charged forward. Initially she headed towards his hind legs -- but then skidded, sliding in the sand to get to the burn around his leg. Yellow lines crossed over her flesh right as she attempted to slam her shoulder into the wound, giving her lightning a point-blank entry point on his weakened scales.

as the electric shock ran through their weakened scorched scales and into their nervous system they gave a hiss of pain, trying in vain to twist away as darkness swallowed them like a forgotten lover's embrace, cold and angry.
