[div style="margin: 0 auto; border-width:0; width: 70%; text-align: justify; line-height: 1.5; font-family: arial; font-size: 9pt;"]It was strange, the sensation of sand beneath his paws. He knew it wasn't his first time traversing the beaches of the Typhoon, but despite the faint hints of memories that remained in his head, everything felt so damn unfamiliar. He couldn't imagine himself living here, getting cosy with the other inhabitants and settling into a bakery of all things. Living with other people had never ended well for him, after all, life was much easier when he was closed off from the rest of the world. That didn't mean that he wasn't lonely, though. When he heard about all the friends he used to have here, a large part of him almost wanted to believe it. He imagined people being happy to see him. It made his heart ache. Maybe the stares of disgust and hatred that he'd received in the past were his own fault, he thought. He only get them because he slept around and occasionally found himself hurting someone.

His apathetic expression twisted into a halfhearted frown. Did he really not do that in the Typhoon? What made his place different, what made him likeable? Amali probably contributed to it in some way. With their connection, with the absolute love that he had felt between them when they awoke in that field, there was no need for what he used to crave. Eve had only searched for such intimacy so he could get a taste of love, so that he could trick himself into feeling like he was wanted. Now that those feelings were no longer artificial, it was unlikely that he'd find himself falling into the same old patterns as before. Maybe that had stopped him in the past as well, the Eve before his rebirth. Perhaps these people didn't look at him with disgust simply because they no longer saw him as disgusting. He hoped that was the case, even if such a perception of him was dead wrong.

A quiet grumble escaped his throat, and he rubbed at his face with paws stained black. The first step was to get himself reacquainted with all of his old friends, as strange as the word was on his tongue. He should be making progress, not wallowing in upsetting thoughts. He set off towards the busiest place he could find, using those helpful senses of his to pinpoint the most noise he could. It was unlike him to seek out louder places, but he thought it was probably necessary in situations like these. It didn't take long to find himself in some sort of bay, rows of little huts being visited by a bustle of friendly looking pirates. Eve lingered along the outskirts, defences immediately coming back up and wiping the uncertainty from his face.
