    15 MOONS — WEARS A BANDANNA — INSOMNIAC
The repeating pattern of soft crunches greet the feet of a lanky serval, his ears pricked slightly at the sound that came from fallen leaves and dead foliage, head tilting down with a small smile pulling on the dark lips, a small upturn showing joy as eyes sparkled. Tail swiped across the leaf-scattered ground that once held green grass, pulling them up towards his body only to make a small step backwards, a larger chorus of crunches erupting from the action, and a small, single, airy huff came from the maw of the male in a small chuckle. For the time being, at least, he was going to like the area that he was in, liking the sounds that came from where he stood and walked. Of course, he knew that once the snows came, there would be more satisfying crunches to be had with the small tingle of the cold that came and made the air seem more crisp.

Finally stopping his crunching, Papercrown would open his maw slightly, looking for the scent that would tell him that he was, in fact, at the border. Good. A satisfied noise would come from his throat before quickly sitting down, dragging a couple of the leaves towards him once more. He began to pick at them, crushing them and moving the broken leaf bits around, digging his claws into them to try and break them more as he waited, passing the time.

[align=center][div style="width: 500px; text-align: justify; font-family: Verdana; font-size: 12px; color;"]It had been a relatively slow day and for that, the snow leopard was thankful. She had been bed ridden for the last week and was slowly getting back into the swing of things, slightly fatigued from the illness that had plagued her. At least that god awful pain had finally subsided, the traces of her former headache might still linger but that incessant ache had dissipated and left her feeling more clear-minded and free than she had since she had ascended to leadership. It would appear that they had one joiner today though, and such deemed to demand her immediate attention.

Resisting the urge to sigh, Agathe would abandon her spot near the border to approach Papercrown, nothing save a look of apathy embracing her pale features. "What's your name and business here, stranger?" Came her idly inquiry, a brow arching mildly. They hadn't had many joiners as of late so she supposed that she should be grateful that somebody had come along. Maybe more would be behind him. Maybe.

Head would rise from it's downward position as the soft crunching of leaves signaled another's approach, and his head would shift ever-so-slightly to the side as he listened to her inquiry. Though it left no sign of emotion that would be glee, it also left no sign of anger, just a quick question that seemed to be the usual one that was asked, though he didn't mind it, it got straight to the point of the reason he was on the border, and though he did like idle chit-chat, there were times where it got to be too much, the award silences as things were thought of to say, the usual questions, the talk of weather.

"My name is Papercrown, and I come here seeking to join your group." He knew it was a group, though he was unsure as to what kind of group it was. He didn't care though, if he had to go around murdering people then he'd do that, if it was frowned upon then albeit, he just wanted a place to sleep safely and maybe a couple people to call "friends".

[div style="margin: 0 auto; width: 55%; font-family: arial; font-size: 11pt; text-align: justify;"]The calico padded up, blinking at the serval as she wracked her brain for the type of animal the joiner was. "Sure, you can join. This is the Ascendants if you don't know already, an' I'm Melody. You can call me Mel if you want." Her tone was somewhat disinterested and not super friendly, but she wasn't exactly being rude either.

Head turned over to the next that arrived, and Paper would dip his head slightly in thanks, nodding his head once as the information reached his ears and head went up to face forward once more. "I thank you." He would speak. Looking back and forth between the two once, the serval would stand up, long legs adding slight height compared to when he was sitting, before opening up maw once more, ready to ask a question. "Is there anything I need to know before joining? Like rules and such, I know some clans have 'em, but I don't know which ones have what." He was sure there was a clan out there somewhere that made it a requirement to kill someone in order to join, or that there could be a place where in order to be accepted as someone rather than just a visitor, you'd have to figure out how to kill a giant animal of some sort.

He hadn't ever met those clans - or, rather, been able to find them - thus far, but it was something that he was sure could happen at some point. Maybe today was his lucky day.

[align=center][div style="width: 500px; text-align: justify; font-family: Verdana; font-size: 12px; color;"]"Rules?" Echoed Agathe quietly, blinking a few times as she pondered his inquiry. She hadn't given any thought to the rules that might govern the Ascendants herself, essentially doing her own thing without a real fear of repercussion. She supposed that the pendants were, at best, a tradition, but even she lacked one and doubted that she possessed the ability to enforce such a trivial aspect of their culture that had seemingly been lost to changing times. Ultimately, she decided that she could not go wrong by simply offering him the basics. "Be mindful of your clanmates and don't murder anyone that isn't an enemy. Other than that, we're rather easy going here," She affirmed carefully. Just as long as Papercrown didn't turn up with the body of a Roseblood member, she'd be fine with whatever the hell he wished to do to pass some time. Everyone had hobbies, after all.

Realizing that she had yet to introduce herself, the snow leopard would square her shoulders, stand a little taller, and flash her teeth. "My name is Agathe Ashyver, the Astral Seraph - or leader - here. We're happy to have you." She left her introduction at that, not bothering to say much else simply because there was nothing more to say. A casual glance would be stolen in Melody's direction before she turned, a subtle nod of her head indicating that she would be heading back to the Observatory soon and they were free to join her. It wasn't a tour by any means but it certainly was more than Agathe normally did for joiners.

The thought of not really having any rules was strange to the male, as he had always made rules for himself. They were trivial rules such as always try to step on crunchy leaves when able to, or make sure to always dip his paws in water before digging into some food - after all, he was walking around on dirt and filth all the time - though he supposed that the small common courtesies that this group seemed to have were rules enough, and he would make sure to be mindful. "Got it, thanks." he'd speak, making note to find out who the enemies were - though he was sure that would come to play soon enough, considering the wars that seemed to happen within groups quite often.

"It's nice to meet you, both of you." He'd speak once more, "I'll make sure to look for you if anything important comes up then." He would offer to Agathe, tail swishing idly behind him, ready to follow whomever was going to move first - though it seemed to be the leader.
