Two massive trifold pairs of wings ate up the vast expanse of blue - a true shadow like a tear in such pure fabric moving across the cloudless sky and a steady thrumbeat as massive wings carried an equally vast armoured yet deceptively lither form across and around the brief circuit through the island territory.

A patrol route, one the dark one flew day and night in equal and measured lengths of time, a security measure from the officer - and a preventive from any bandits and the like, for who attacked a territory with so blatant a defence as a dragon? nevermind that he was more so than this form gave him, a dragon was usually more than enough to deter most.

the vast shadows, edged in fever bright white tilted - banking downwards as Lucifer came in to land squarely on the sandy yellow-white beaches below, a sudden inkblot on such near white plains - Lucifer rumbled quietly, shaking himself of the sea spray a near skimming flight had thrown upon him briefly as he folded away his wings, the soft sounds of his plates moving in sync at such a motion blending with the quiet thrum of the sea behind him.

rolling his shoulders, the dragon turned towards the treeline, searching for the familiar figure of the only other parent to troublesome raptors on this island - and hopefully help the grown indominus with any height related problems his recent growth spurt had given him.

it had been many many times ago that he'd had such troubles - most his had been when newly born folding himself into a form suitable for the material world, crafting his shadows over the red red bones and a singularity for a heart and soul - it had been a novelty after that to learn how to handle height around so many smaller.

although he'd had to get used to being smaller in this world and plane he'd found himself in since his last, restricted as his form became after - well,

nevermind that.

a noise caught his attention and the vantablack dragon looked up "Owen?"

You see- Owen was used to being tall as a human. He was about 6 ft tall in his human life, he could walk around all smug and buff if he wanted to, but he was stuck for now, in this massively huge body that only Luciferus could help him hover around in.

It was this particular day that Owen had chosen to get some tips from Lucifer, if he could even be in the same space for longer than two seconds without flirting helplessly with the shadow-like draconic male. Scales like the pits of hell, dark and mysterious, but Owen thought the male's appearance was jaw-dropping gorgeous, but he found himself struck in silence when the male had actually flown over.

The noise was a loud clatter, Owen pushing himself through the trees to meet his friend only to trip over a trunk and land chin-first on the ground, his hands barely holding himself up in the second he had to prepare himself for the fall. "I'm over here! Fuck- Fuckin' legs.." Owen snarled under his breath, shaking his legs free of the tree stump which he had ungracefully knocked over in his rush to meet the blackened dragon.

The pale indominus rex wheezed in a breath as he struggled up onto all fours again, the spines along his back quivering against the tree branches as he pulled himself out, a snarky grin on his face. "Missed me? You totally did not just see my trip and nearly bash my chin open." Owen snickered, tilting his head to the side.

lucifer had experience dealing with being varying sizes - he and his family often had to be given they had at least 2-3 forms on any given mortal plane, Hellion, ascendant and humanoid usually - the first two he retained here but humanoid seemed locked away, shame really, the extra dexterity in thumbs might have been useful but then he managed well enough with albeit much larger thumbs so to speak in this form.

So when Owen had asked, he'd been perfectly fine with helping the other newly large typhoonian out - and some part of him found it abstractly complementary given the added contrast of colours even - though it might be that lucifer was also rather oblivious to attentions to himself.

He always rather had been - that or more to him he didn't think he warranted such, too many sins weighing his self opinion down perhaps.

He chuckled lightly at the stumble - ah graceless on new legs, but that could be sorted easily enough and the indominus was rather strange given the mash up of genetics, but held a deadly grace - one Owen would no doubt get soon enough, he'd rather pegged the raptor pack leader for something of a swift learner when he got to it.

He hummed amused despite himself, he'd spotted the pale white amid the
Eaves coming up - Owen was had to miss in this form to his eyes ta least, large and powerful, built with a similarity to his raptors and pale white scales like bone , he tilting his horned head "I saw nothing I swear" though the small smile might have given that away "you'll get used to your legs soon enough - the correct Balance will help with that after all" already giving pointers but he'd long been used to teaching - his own children or old legions so very long ago.

He was young when he had been in the Navy as a human, training dolphins and other animals to aid with war. He wished he could have taken back all the things he did for the military- He wished he didn't let them use his raptors for war purposes, but those times were gone now.

Long, powerful hind legs lifted the weight of the large indominus rex up, long front legs pulling back to his sides until he could move enough to get out of the forest and into the open. Once he was successful, the i-rex landed back on all four, scooting in to stand beside Luciferus, a grin on his face. He could do this- yeah, hell yeah.

"What's the first lesson on your mind? Should I adjust my weight differently?" The spined dinosaur rumbled, his spikes rippling against the wind once again as his long, powerful tail swung idly behind him. He wondered briefly if his girls were behaving, but then again he did think too much of them.

"Well for one you seem to be wanting to balance more forwards when you should be holding your center of gravity half and half - like an evenly weighted scale, if you need the comparison" he gestured, noting how Owen seemed to prefer all fours at the moment - perhaps the newly transformed Canine simply hadn't got the knack of balance between cranium and weighted tail just right.

he shifted onto his back legs and gestured with his forelimbs "I'm sure you've seen your girls when they walk or sprint around - how they hold themselves, its the same theory simply on a larger scale and we'll have to find a point of balance since your proportions aren't that of a velociraptor, mutated variety or otherwise" his claws moved over the end of his chin in thought.

"Once you know it, You'll be golden - you do seem a quick learner after all" he inclined his head with a slight smile - oddly Owen's slight bumbling reminded him of his own collection of dinosaurian children when they'd been so young and just finding their feet.

and also challenging crabs unaware the little blighters could put up a fight - and then subsequently hiding behind mom when it went pear shaped.

lucifer hummed quietly "is it just balancing your having trouble with? aside from navigating the forests - changing forms does come with a tad bit of a shock to the unwary"
