Usually when someone would appear at the gate it would be someone trying to form an alliance between their group and the Typhoon, enemies trying to piss them off, or a joiner wanting to join. Sometimes someone who's lost too could fit in that category though that would prove to be quite uncommon. The king cheetah was out on the beautiful day, sun beating down at his back as his paws pounded against the ground beneath. Slowly with every exercise he managed, he was getting stronger, faster, more precise. He wasn't there yet but soon he would be at the goal he had set for himself. His side burned still with the burn wound that was placed on his side, fur still singed and covered in poultices that would cover up the gruesome sight and also work to heal it as quick as it could manage. The burn did definitely slow his movements a bit but he was able to still manage a steady and good pace that would help to still exercise out his bones and muscles. His paws began to slow down near the gate as he heard the sound of bells in the air, his head turning to look over to the gate where someone was standing.
Marcellus was a bit scared to approach him by himself considering no one else was around, but the king cheetah didn't want to be seen as a wuss, as weak. No, he couldn't be weak. His bright eyes narrowed and he began to limp his way towards the gate where he would look at the merchant. A merchant huh? He peered behind her to look at her cart full of mysterious wares, the male padding over to it and beginning to look at them all, though still keeping his eyes on Lua just in case she decided to pull some funny stuff. Despite trying to appear all brave, he was still racked by nerves for if this wolf decided to attack any second, as if the mask wasn't ominous enough. "Marcellus." He introduced himself as he looked around at the things on her cart. Nothing particularly interested him until he found a box. Interest peeked as he picked up the box with his paws and set down on his hind legs, shaking it to hear something jolting inside. "What's this? What's in here?" His head peered up to look at her as he motioned to the box that was lying on her cart.

If it hadn't been for the recent bone merchant, Bakugou perhaps would have been intensely suspicious about the cart the woman hauling. But, from the look of it, he doubts she is hiding any bombs in there. From brief inspection, with eyes burning in her direction, she posture seems to reek of tiredness - it's unlikely for her to be able to run far from the looks of it. At the same time, there's no smell of gunpowder. Back in the old world, Bakugou was very familiar with its scent. He himself often smelt of coals and burnt metal so it was easy for him to recognise anything unusual. The more he thinks about it now, the more absurd he realises it. Pah, animals engineering bombs. It was highly unlikely considering their paws and far too overpowered for only one individual to be capable of doing. Their lack of precision grips also make this idea highly improbable. He just...expects the worse out of others. There is no reason for the male to be paranoid and yet he was.
The ragdoll approaches and stands beside Marcellus, flicking an ear at the irritating chime of bells. Just for once he's wished that some idiot would ring the bells outside the black mamba pit, just once he'd like to hear some buffoon get viciously mauled by those legless reptiles. His furrowed brows relax when he finally peers at her items, snorting a little when she comments that The Typhoon was 'lovely'. Well, if they ignored the whole populace of their pirate group then yes, they were lovely. The privateer's eyes skim gently across the assortment of soft toys and accessories, uninterested in such 'unmanly' things. The masks, however, sitting right beneath his nose had a haunting aura about them. He doesn't like things that feel artificial and it was as though they were staring back at him through nonexistent eyes, glaring at him through the void. Bakugou glances back at the masked wolf, his irises mirroring fire. He wasn't angry, per say, just curious. "You like creepin' people out or something? There's so many of 'em."

"The endless Void, The gazing abyss, The bottomless ocean of horror... It coiled itself around your tender heart." Lucifer's shadow fell over the small group as the dragon bent to peer at her wares - now used to the sight of sunhaven merchants coming around - and scanning what she'd brought an idea surfaced. he points a claw towards the collection of stuffed toys and asks quietly "what items are you willing to trade for one?" he thinks the stuffed zebra would work well for Exodus, the feral raptor-child would no doubt delight in something to occupy her teeth and claws with and this one looks a tad more durable than the others - he doesn't doubt he has something she would trade for it, his cave was full of items he'd collected over the years and a small flight there and back to get anything she'd most need wouldn't take long. /local dad shops for the kids

Bakugou wasn't originally interested in a 'mysterious box' just lying there, but when there was challenge which nipped at his bravery and worth, the male instantly becomes competitive. Simply hearing Lua's talk about the secretive contents which laid inside made him very, very curious with slanting hues burning with a desire to know. He doesn't believe in the woman's attempt to convince Marcellus that the box contained anything he wanted, but he was sure as heck curious, even to the point that he was beginning to nibble the bottom of his lip in discomfort. It probably just has a piece of paper, adorning the buyer as a fool for purchasing such an object, but the curiosity continues to gnaw at the back of his head, tapping uneasily at his skull. He doesn't, of course, want to admit how he suddenly feels about his box. He leaves it for the time being, half-hoping that the king cheetah would be stupid enough to purchase it. If not, he may have to wait until everyone cleared away and ask what the woman wanted to trade it for, knowing full well it could be a scam.
His returns his attention to the masks, twitching his nose as he glosses over their designs. "Any oni masks?" the male asks in a monotonous manner. He realises that his armour and weapons that he has in his hut, hung up on display, look as though they are missing something. Perhaps the added addition of a mask, a face glaring back at you, was needed to complete the set. He may not be obsessed with aesthetic, but he did have an eye for it.

It seemed almost a miracle none had angered the mambas which coiled beneath, simply waiting for an unwitting fool willing to push their luck. Yet this seemed different, a lighter song, more musical and lilting as it called, drawing his attention.
Though bed rest was necessary to help heal the shatter bone Silus was not one to follow orders so readily given, even from the one he called his teacher, following her in every way beyond what she thought best for his health. There was nothing good about him moving around, further aggravating the cuts upon his face and side, nor the sudden shift of bone as he moved too quickly, ribs and leg screaming at him to stop. Such would have been a smart move, however, and none might deem the Sage intelligent. For all of his abilities in herbs, his work with memory so he might make as few mistakes as possible, one to behold in a child with such a flighty mind, he was idiotic in acts of caring for himself in any meaningful way. It had become a habit of his to wander the island, weaving through the thin trees and seeking any who might need his assistance, the familiar weight of his satchel, striking his side with each hopping step, grounding. Dark ears swivelled around and for a time Silus wondered at how good an idea it might be to approach, the murmur of voices around the strange one enough to speak of her already having business, but he was curious if nothing else. Slowly he moved closer, eyeing the masks Lua took out, a raised brow turned to Bakugou. The news of his forge was not one kept well, or might it be he had made no attempt and rather preferred others to come and seek his work, and so he wondered if it was some inspiration or apart of his own work. “I'll take da mask 'e don' want, an da box,” gesturing with a flick of his head, it was difficult to do much with one arm lifted in a make-shift sling so the bone had time to set and heal properly, briefly thinking on what things he might have to give her in exchange. “Got sum knives, fer carvin, I don' need no more, bone charms, a few snake skins, an sum whale bone.” Listing off a few things he was willing to part with he hoped she would find something worthy of the items he wanted. |
