There wasn't a lot going on in The Typhoon, save for Goldenluxury's kite thing and the sparring competition with The Rosebloods. Caesar liked the latter, though he did need a break despite his love for fighting. After all, mortal bodies had to recover from their wounds. The demon was currently on the beach, twisting the knife Roxanne gave him back and forth in his paws mindlessly, as if he was thinking about something. What, exactly? Who the hell knows.

With so little to do time had become a mere afterthought, day and night blending in the darkness of the enclosed space. It had been a shock to the system when the doors had finally opened, seeing the outside world bathed with sunlight for the first time in close to two weeks too much.

Being here had only worsened her state, every thought turning back to that place, the people she had met and come to consider friends, bonds unbroken though distance had strained it. Beneath her paws the sand crunched softly, each step a slow shuffle, barely lifting as she let her mind wander back, catching on a figure of blue and gold, wanting to be around her again. It took a bit of time before Aita finally lifted her eyes, squinting at the blur of yellow upon the sand, all too bright to be a mere mound of it.

She had grown accustomed to her sight, lacking any ability to tell what things were at a great distance, but there were still moments when it had grown difficult to handle. Picking up a slow pace she slowly moved closer to the strange object, stopping in her tracks when it finally clear some, the familiar frame of the Officer drawing from her throat a groan. They had made no secret of the feelings between the two, no matter the bond of family neither cared for the other and seemed intent on pushing too far, their most recent interaction nearly ending in a fight. Turning on her heel Aita made to walk away, hoping he hadn't heard or noticed her but with the way her luck had been going lately it wasn't likely.

The sound of sand crunching beneath Caesar's paws made his head turn around and look in the direction Aita came, only to hear her groan and turn away. "And where do you think you're going?" He called after her, rising to his feet as he turned his entire body to face his granddaughter. His tone was almost mocking, as if he was trying to taunt her, and honestly? He was, mostly due to their interaction whenever she tried holding a first aid lesson. Truth be told, he was still waiting for that fight she threatened, even though she never really agreed to it. But of course Caesar believed she did; he only believed things he want to happen.

Words rose to her tongue, lingering upon the edge, seeking to be spat at the Officer yet within tense muscle thrummed nervous energy brought on by the want to run. It would be so simple, there was no need for her to out run him for long, just get enough of a head start and find someone else, anyone who might act as a temporary shield. But to do so was an act of cowardice the child would not allow herself to perform, lips peeling away from teeth pressed together, a snarl which no real threat behind it.

What good was she, a healer before she had learnt to fight, even in self defence, in a situation such as this?

“Not goin no wer ol man, what, ya go' a booboo ya wan' me ta kiss betta?” Turning to look at Caesar over her shoulder Aita seemed to have not learnt her lesson, speaking with a sharp tone, mocking edge to each word. If she was going to start a fight she was going to make sure she deserved every hit, uncaring that she was out matched in this, only thinking it was better to get this over with and have some fun while she was at it.

God, the fucking way Aita spoke bothered the hell out of him and Caesar tried his best not to curl his lips out of disgust as she talked back to him, though they did peel back at the words she said to him. ”Does it look like I’m injured?” Caesar spat, his tail lashing for a brief moment as he fought back the urge to either dig his claws into the sand or lash out at Aita - or both. ”Besides, who ever said I’d come to you of all fucking people for help?” Healing was disgusting and honestly, the Officer would rather die from his wounds than accept help from anybody. ”You’re a god damn disgrace.”

In truth she could never truly put into words the turmoil which scrapped iron claws around the interior of her skull, which forced her to take a step closer though the paw that rose trembled, each breath a shuddering, terrified thing. There was nothing smart about her actions, forced into it by the anger which curdled her stomach, twisted it into painful knots. She was just a child, inexperienced in the way the world functioned yet missing the fear so many had been tempered by, given only to what she wanted, striving to take if she could not have it easily.

“Who eva said I would 'elp ya fuckin worthless ass,” murmur passing trembling lips, dark eyes barely touching upon the Officer before it dances away, everything within her screaming to run. And yet here she was, taking another step closer, letting paws that shook slightly to carry her towards Caesar, this man she was forced to call family, one who held no ounce of love for her nor any other who bore his blood.

"Did you not just ask if I needed help?" Caesar shot back with a snarl, growling irritated at his granddaughter. He literally did just offer for help, sort of, and then she just goes back on her word? Understandable he supposed, especially considering he just said he wouldn't accept her help anyway. As she stepped towards him, Caesar raised a paw and let out a warning growl towards her not to come closer.

Had she? Dark eyes blinked with uncertainty as the words registered, jaws opening with a faint sound. Within recent days her thoughts seemed a storm, never quite settling and proving difficult to bring under any semblance of control, words slipping through dark lips without a care for what it was she spoke. It seemed there were consequences behind such things and she was slow to learn of it, certainty touching her posture as she took a step back.

Run. Get out.

“Fuck you,” strength curled about these words for it was all she could offer, scrambling for anything in response to the growl arising from him. The edge about it spoke of danger, a forewarning to pain sure to come, but still she stood, definite though her body trembled slightly, unnoticeable if one proved uncaring to seek out the signs, ears pulling back.
