Sylva wasn't a very sociable child. While most her age were outgoing and jumpy, she was a lot more at ease, preferring the solitary confines of her and her family's room. Sometimes her sister would drag her around, and while she pretended to be irritated during those times, she was really just happy to spend time with her. Her family meant a lot to her, and so she cherished each moment she spent with them.
Of course, the other members of the clan were her family, too. She cared about all of them, as dysfunctional and imperfect as they were. That was just what made them special. But, as much as she loved those around her, she just needed some time to herself. Being around for others for so long got tiring.
Her favorite hide-away was a small fort of pillows and blankets she had made, nestled in a corner of the Observatory. It was hard to miss, but none ever seemed to bother it, so she kept it up and would often go there to read and just unwind. Even now, she was laid out on a plush pillow, reading through a book on something or other. From what she could understand, it was about dragons and other mythical creatures.
