A joyful laughter run out as the cub as he stumbled along the path. The cub finally came to a stop, chest heaving as he tried to catch his breath. Atlas fell backwards onto his haunches, an ear flicking as he gazed around the area. The wind blew across the path, ruffling his fur and causing a small shiver to snake down his spine but he enjoyed the filling of the cold biting at him.

The cub noticed a butterfly floating past him and he pushed himself back up onto his three paws and chased after it. he giggled and laughed as he chased after the bug, seeming to have little care in the world and whatever could've been going on around him. But that was okay, he was only a cub he wasn't supposed to have much of a care.

The sabertooth’s large paws struck the snow soundlessly, yet scored deep tracks. Three rabbits hung from xyr jaws, framed by xyr oversized fangs, and their pairs of hind legs swayed so far off the ground, Wuyi didn’t need to worry about their paws catching on the underbrush. For xem, such small prey was hardly worth storing, but there were many smaller predators in the Frostguard to feed.

However, before Wuyi reached the prey cache, xe heard the sound of a laughing cub. It was an unusual sound to hear in the dead of winter, so xyr course shifted slightly westward, and, in no time at all, xe rounded the library to see the lynx cub playing in the snow. Xyr wings relaxed; no trouble at all, nothing to worry about.

Wuyi raised a wing to wave a greeting to the cub, and turned to head towards the food cache. Unless the cub wanted to chat or eat one of xyr caught rabbits, xyr first priority was drop the meat into storage.

Atlas had been so focused by the butterfly that he almost didn't notice the other presence. The cub stopped and turned to watch Wuyi, head tilting to the side in curiosity. He shrugged it off and turned back to the insect when he noticed that the creature was gone and a pout settled onto his features.

Though it didn't stay for long as the child remembered seeing the other feline. He turned and raced over to Wuyi, moving as fast as he could on three legs. "Hey!" he called out as he drew closer. "Whatcha doing?" Atlas asked, heading tilting to one side once again as he tried to figure it out. Honestly it should've been obvious to the cub but sometimes things just went over his little head.

Wuyi’s steps slowed. Xyr ears twitched as the kit scampered behind xem. Xe hesitated, wings twitching as xyr brain chewed on how do you speak while holding three rabbits in your mouth. When the obvious answer finally occurred to xem, xe huffed and unceremoniously dropped the prey between xyr paws.

None of the rabbits xe’d caught were bigger than xyr paws. That was half luck, half Wuyi being a giant fucking cat.

“Well, I was bringing these to the community stockpile.” Wuyi’s green eyes flicked away to look in that general direction, until his attention drifted back to the kit. “But the snow’ll keep them fresh, so I do have time to chat with you. You’re Atlas, right? I’m Wuyi.”
