Being new, Zora did not have the pleasure of knowing too many of the town’s residents. At the call, she brought herself forward, driven by curiosity. Weekly tasks? This happened weekly? And a child was giving them out? Did children have authority in this society? That seemed unusual. Watching others get their tasks for a few moments, she got a good grasp on the routine. She trotted closer to the statue. “May I have one?”
