A large wolf often put the vulpine's cousins to mind -- Raziel in particular, as it was his one of his more frequent shapes.  The unfamiliar scent and voice that called from the border easily demonstrated otherwise, as the Ardent padded forward.

His hazel gaze lifted smoothly, studying the canine thoughtfully.  The faerie could appreciate the straightforwardness, inclining his head in a polite greeting as he halted.

"I am called Gael Ó Broin," he offered his name in turn.  "I am the Ardent, or leader of the Pitt."

"Are you passing through, Calixte, or looking for a place to stay?"  Either the wolf was a traveler or a potential joiner -- truthfully, both options suited Gael, as he did not mind catching news from the neutral lands if he could.
