It had been one of those days that Roxanne had come to the Tempest and decided to clean up the captains quarters, she didn't exactly live there so to speak given that it was the main spot where everyone would suspect the captain of being and it felt weird living in the part of the entire territory that once belonged to her brother and niece, it was odd in her mind yet... She came by anyways to make sure that things were tidy and clean, her ears twitching ever so slightly. A feather duster was clamped in her jaws though the faint sound of claws dragging against wood made a frown appear on her maw, she set aside the feather duster only to mutter "It better not be those jackass bettas fuckin up my floors again." Her fluffy tail lashed to the sides, the captain seeming more distracted than usual but she made her way to the entrance of the captains quarters to investigate and found herself face to face with her son, Alexandre.
Her mismatched gaze fixated on her son as her pupils widened before narrowing slowly "Oh hello there, Ale. Did you come to help mama clean up the captains quarters?" A small smile found itself on her maw as her ear flicked a bit, how ironic that the person who was plaguing her thoughts had decided to come and visit her during her cleaning hours. She had noticed how Alexandre acted towards Vayne just about the same way Roan acted with his own siblings but clearly there was different intents on both parties, Roan refused to get close due to the loss of Jaime and Alexandre... She could only assume a form of envy or jealousy. "Y'know Xanxan, I was thinking about you while I was cleaning." Her gaze was gentle, something that most people never obtained with Roxanne Roux.
She knew what Alex felt or at least, a grasp of it, recalling when she had been a mere kitten. Her sisters were always preferred by their mother since they weren't born freaks like Roxanne and the moment she had been able to walk and talk. Roxanne was cast out into the cold, cruel world with only herself to rely on mainly. The rest of it was a blur due to the trauma making her somewhat forget or moreso repress these memories from her... But she knew. And she felt bad if she ever made Alexandre feel like she preferred Vayne over him, Roxie loved all of them equally or tried to... The thought of ever adopting a Cipher being an odd concept to her yet here she was with Vayne under her wing.
She blinked her eyes momentarily turning to face her son once more as she chirped "I want you to know, mijito, that I will always love you." There was a pause as the captain stared into the eyes of the boy only to sigh quietly with a slow nod "Nothing's ever going to change that either." Little did she know that the kingpin of the Coalition had taken possession of her son but she'd find out soon enough... Wouldn't she?
