HOUSES OF HALCYONE
GENERAL WELCOME/DESCRIPTION
GENERAL TERRITORY
The Houses of Halcyone reside on a small island surrounded by a flowing river. The stone walls of their land keep trespassers and loners from coming within their boreal woods and ransacking. All outsiders, with permission, should enter through the drawbridge and dock appropriately with their boat. A general map of their territory can be seen here.
CASTLE —
Throne Room — For every meeting, members will cross the cobble bridge into the castle and enter through the castle doors. This leads directly into the ruler's throne room. Dimly lit with torches lining the wall, the golden sheen on the throne shines brightly throughout the room. The marble floor is covered by a thin, lengthy rug in crimson.
High King/Queen's Quarters— This room is dedicated to the private quarters for the King/Queen and their spouse. Details vary each reign.
Round Table — Every once and awhile, the leader will hold a meeting within a private room that holds the Round Table. Lords, ladies, and the subject's chosen representative, along with any high ranks, will meet to discuss pressing matters within the Houses of Halcyone.
The Archives/Library — Records of the kingdom's past lay within this area of the castle. The walls are lined in dark oak shelves, spiraling all the way to the top. Every shelf is filled with a variety of books. They are in order of author, but some important documents, like scrolls, may reside closer to the bottom.
Prince/Princess Quarters — Any princes and princesses of the King/Queen reside within this room. Each has their own personal servant and quarters to accommodate them.
Catacombs — Hidden at the back of the throne room, the catacombs lurk. The general population does not know about the catacombs or what lies within it, but it's rumored to be a quick escape for the leader if chaos begins or a secretive cave that connects to every part of the territory.

ACADEMY— The academy is a vital part of the Houses of Halcyone. Standing tall at three two stories high, this red brick building is home to education. Every child or newcomer attends the academy to learn the laws of the land, how to fight, and fend for themselves. Anyone may hold a class within the inside of the brick building or on the courtyard it lies on.
BLACKSMITH— Between the castle's trenches and the academy lies the blacksmith's quarters. It's intentionally close to these areas for educational and weaponry purposes. The small building is made of a thick wood with a cobblestone trim at the bottom to prevent any fires. The Blacksmithing area includes a burning fireplace, many pots, spare metals, and an open-area to allow cooling.
ARMORY— Across from the blacksmith at the other edge of the courtyard, the armory remains.

LAW OF THE LAND
I. The High King/Queen is to be respected and their word is law.
II. Guests and newcomers are treated as lesser until they are assigned to a house. In the meantime, they are considered outsiders and heathens.
III. It is the head of each family’s duty to keep the peace within their family and assigned region. If issues span across multiple houses, then the King will intervene.
IV. The round table’s decisions are final. Only the King can overrule their final resolutions
V. General conflict between houses and the general public is encouraged to be avoided. Punishments will be dealt out accordingly if it crosses a line.
VI. Murder, torture, cannibalism, and topics within that category are not encouraged but allowed within their borders. It is advised that allied groups are not harmed.
VII. Sharing vital, secretive information outside the group is considered betrayal.
VIII. Rebellion or mutiny against any ruler, whether the King or the Family Head, is treason.
IX. Any act of malicious sexual deviance will be punished with castration, exile, or the death penalty.
X. All Beasts of Beyond rules and regulations apply.
RELATIONS
With many conflicting houses, families, and views, the kingdom tends to avoid picking between 'warbound' and 'pacifist.' Instead, they remain strictly neutral. They will often take allies if it suits their needs. Enemies are easier to acquire, unfortunately.
ALLIES — N/A
NEUTRAL — Every group not listed.
ENEMIES — N/A
RANKS
HIGH KING/QUEEN— The High King is the leader of the group. They deal in all politics, such as alliances or promotions, and their word is law. Their spouse is called King/Queen also, but they hold no power.
Lucius of House Montreux, roleplayed by Orion
GRAND PRINCE/PRINCESS — After the High King comes their successor, the Grand Prince or Princess. They are next in line for the throne. Regular princesses and princes are children of the ruler, but hold no power and merely inherit the title.
Currently there is no Grand Prince/Princess.
DUKE/DUCHESS — A duke or duchess is the king/queen's greatest advisor. They are the head of the round table, leading all discussions when the king is not present. Their main duty is dealing with internal politics and keeping neutrality between houses, along with coming to agreements with conflict. To keep the peace, they may also hold events.
Constantine of House Magdol, roleplayed by Tikki
VISCOUNT/VISCOUNTESS — Next in line is the viscount/viscountess. Their role is to oversee the battle and war related aspects of the group, such as leading the academy, monitoring the armory, or hosting battle practice in the courtyard. If conflict arises from external affairs, the High King/Queen is likely to consult them.
Coldmountain of No House, roleplayed by Otto.
Tove of House Halla, roleplayed by Misty
SEER — Seers are the general healers of the group. They are located in the south within the conservatory and manage all herbs/healing aspects.
Jasper of House Kinsella, roleplayed by Teef.
LORD/LADY — The head of a house is referred to as a Lord or Lady. While they are not a high position, they rule their separate houses and attend the round table to represent their ideals during meetings.
SUBJECTS — Any regular member of the Houses of Halcyone is called a 'subject.'
SERVANT — Servants are the low-lives of the group. Their purpose is to serve the ranks above them with no question or bartering. They are usually within this rank as punishment, are from a lower family, or are looking to please the King.
EXILED — These members are not allowed within the Houses of Halcyone's territory, nor should be conspiring with anyone on the inside. They are to be executed on the spot.
Currently there are no exiled individuals.
