He had seen rats, he had seen birds, but for the love of all that was holy, crocodiles? At what point was a line in the sand, haha pun, drawn where taking care of another animal became too potentially dangerous? He wasn't even being rude or insulting in his thought process, he was just genuinely curious. Up until now, Danny avoided pretty much all of the above, having been taught that they could all be potentially dangerous, and he didn't need to think twice about anything that could be dangerous. So, obviously, when he found Roxanne babying Kalayavan, a terrifyingly large boy.
Another weird, almost feverish dream had plagued him during what was supposed to be a decent sleep, causing his head to spin so fast it hurt, everything was much too loud and the sunlight felt like it would burn out his eyes. So much so that even leaving the tavern and stepping outside sent him stumbling around like a drunk, which should have been a bad enough sign that he wasn't feeling well, as Danny was a good kid and would never touch an alcohol, not now anyway. The realization of being orphaned by a fallen tree and having witnessed Goldie get burned alive was also pretty upsetting, as well as Deldrach's missing eye...what else was there on the list that was upsetting him today and ruining his beauty sleep? He was sure he'd find something else, but all he ended up finding was the captain with her head in the mouth of a giant albino reptile. Danny stopped rubbing the side of his head and slowly put his paw down, opposite action but with the same energy as someone putting their hands up with a gun pointed at them. Except there was no gun, just Kal. He blinked, as if any second the croc would disappear and he could laugh weakly about his sleep deprived hallucinations, but the creature stayed where it was. He even looked over at Vayne for a second, wondering if she was used to the giant boy and that's why she, y'know, offered to feed Kal.
"C-Captain...who...who's that?" Danny asked, not entirely proud of the shaking he did just looking at Kalayavan. In his defense, it was a crocodile and he'd never gotten the time to get used to Roxanne just having him around.
