~ ☼ Stepping out of the den that had become her home since she had become a discens, Onyx gently shifted the box she was carrying in her wings as she took a step further into the camp. Holidays, they were something that she had found herself loving so far, the New Years celebration in particular had been cool! Even better, they happened every year, on the same day, which meant that she'd get to celebrate again when they all came around, even if it was a long, long time to wait. That said, she couldn't believe that she had managed to miss one of these, she hadn't even known it had existed until the day it happened. Valentine's day, she didn't really know what a valentine was, even the immune she asked didn't really know why it was called that, but he had still been really helpful!
It was a holiday about love, and, more importantly, giving chocolate or sweets to the one you loved. She did have a sizable stash of sweets stored up, one that she had kept hidden as best she could, knowing that there were those who would take it if they could, they were for her, and only her. Except...maybe she could give some of it away. She really didn't like the thought of giving away her stuff, but....there was one groupmate she could share with. So, she had pulled some things from her stash, and stuffed them into a nice box, chocolates of varying types, candies, mostly things that she had more than one of, and maybe a thing or two that she didn't like herself, like that licorice stuff. The purple bow wrapped around the box was a personal touch of hers too, it had been really frustrating, eventually she had even gotten it stuck into a knot she couldn't untie herself, and had left it looking a little weird, but that just gave it character!
Eyes squinted as she did her best to try and make out the form of the recipient of her gift, the one she loved more than anyone else in the whole world. "Mom! Mooom!" It...it stung a bit, she wouldn't lie, to call out for her mom, knowing that one of them wasn't here, that she only had one box right now instead of two. It was exactly why her mama needed this candy too, they had both been sad, and candy always made everyone happier, just...maybe not a whole lot happier, but it was still something!
