Gods below, all this shit over a little mayhem? The sleek wildcat huffed a smokey exhale as ve looked up to the Typhoon’s dragon captain. All of this for herbs? And that grumpy healer? Nah, ve knew it all came back to the ittle wittle children—despite their abundance and ease to churn out, everyone cared about the little disposable boogers. Fuck it, ve wouldn’t let anyone in the Forge die because of the snot-nosed brat that got himself captured.
Vale burst into Torsten’s holding cell, black sludge dripping off vis cheekbones as vis face melted off. The creature’s fur twitched and pulsed, as though little worms dug around in the jaguar’s flesh, and the entire pelt itched awfully. No matter. The bandit’s lips curled back, allowing putrid saliva to drip down to the stone floor, and Vale snarled a puff of black smoke.
“Get in the bag,” Vale hissed, as vis small teeth fell out of vis mouth, one by one. In vis paws, ve held the bag wide, and Vale’s baleful red eyes widened angrily the longer Torsten delayed.
Once the child finally scampered into the bag, Vale pulled the drawstring shut and tied it securely. For good measure, ve burned the rope’s knot; the synthetic fibers smoldered and fused, so the only way to release the child now was to cut through the bag’s tough leather skin.
Black feather wings sprouted like parasitic worms out of Vale’s back, and the skullfaced jaguar rose to the sky. Ve flew above the Typhoon crew attacking, heading straight for the dragon captain with the bag clutched in vis claws. The high winds stole the rest of Vale’s liquidating face, until gleaming white bone glistened in the sunlight.
“YOU WANT YOUR SNOT-NOSED SHITSTAIN OF A CHILD?!” Vale shrieked, stopping a distance away from the tangling dragons. Cherna and Roxanne’s fight was nothing to scoff at, and the comparatively tiny bandit had no desire to get caught in their draconic struggle.
Vale waved the bag for effect—hopefully Torsten would scream something and prove Vale was telling the truth—but Vale didn’t think highly enough of the child’s intelligence to expect he’d be smart enough to do so. So Vale attempted to thwack the bag with a paw as ve added, “Say something, brat.”
And, with that, Vale sighed dramatically, held out the bag, and dropped the bag.
The kid would probably die on impact with the ocean below, but, whatever. Vale didn’t give a shit about that—but the dragon bitch queen going after him? Might give Cherna an opening to kill her, or cause the idiot to realize she and her pirates should leave now they got what they came for. Not to mention since, obviously, the dragons were having a field day with the pirates who dared step foot on their home turf.
