HOP, SKIP, AND... SKIP. // o, skipping stones

Maybe I could hold a contest for this, Starrynight thought as he flicked the pebble across the rippling pool of water born from the stream of water falling from the rocks above. The water weaved between the pebbles and down to the sea, where the lapping waves ate it up hungrily. The pool was deep enough to reach his chest if he sat down- perfect for skipping stones in. (Skipping stones into the waves didn't sound like a particularly good idea- mostly because it would defeat the purpose of skipping).

As the stone sank to the bottom to rest upon the other countless stones beneath, the Astral Seraph grabbed a larger stone, this time chucking it into the pool to make a splash rather than skipping. As droplets of water spattered across his fur, he stood up and shook himself. Gradually, the rate at which he tossed stones into the pool slowed to a halt as he lost himself in his thoughts.
