— COALITION OF — THE CONDEMNED
A long time ago, in the south lay a deserted island with unknown travelers. Surrounded by the ocean's mist, their society had remained hidden for years. Unfortunately, all good things come to an end. As the meteor descended from the sky, members of the mysterious group watched with horror. The ground shook underneath their feet. Earth's tectonic plates shifted, causing their island to crack in half and create a new ravine. Not only this, but an overlooking wave cast a shadow on their home as a raging tsunami crashed down. Underlying caves flooded. Many drowned, others succumbed to the blunt force of the water. With no hope in sight, they sulked in the remains of their home. In no time though, an aspiring leader look the reigns and laid out a plan to pillage elsewhere.
During their conquest, the group found several suitable homes. While not their first choice, the group slunk off into the north western side of the mainland and began to work. Using elemental powers, the Coalition of the Condemned split part of the land away from the mainland and created their own island from Elysium's old territory. Unlike their former tropical island, this island was riddled with boreal forests and colder climates.
CONDEMNED HOMES — After overtaking Elysium and acquiring a new territory, the Coalition of the Condemned began to inhabit old houses and construct new homes. The islands within the territory have a variety of homes to choose from. Popular choices include living in caves, brick houses, ice domes, log cabins, and more.
JAWS OF THE SERPENT — To travel to the mainland and between other islands within the Coalition of the Condemned’s territory, wanderers utilize caves. The central island’s entrances have stone sculptures mimicking a hissing serpent with elongated fangs and an extended split tongue.
INVASIVE FLORA AND FRUITS — Many tropical trees and flowers are found in the two southernmost islands. Their assorted fruits are the group's main delicacy. As a vital food source, they provide vitamins and nutrients to the wounded. Along with this, they bring tradition. With many pigmented options, the trees' fruit/leaves and plants' petals are used as dyes. These dyes are often donned during battle, indicating rank or achievements.
FURS AND TROPHIES — Due to their cold home, many animals in the Coalition wear furs and skins of their hunting trophies. Furs from slain enemies, mythical animals, or extinct creatures are highly regarded. These furs are often made into cloaks, blankets, or armor; they also make excellent gifts, and newcomers are often welcomed with elk skins. Horns, claws, skulls, and other trophies are also used for armor or weapons, as well as decorations and gifts.
TRIBAL WAR PAINT — The Coalition of the Condemned's animals often don dyes from their flora to create vibrant war paint. These simplified patterns indicate rank and powers a member has.
MARK OF THE ESPIONAGE — Espionage's remain hidden within the ranks of The Condemned's opposing groups. To identify themselves to one another, they reveal a small scarred ouroboros on the bottom of their left pawpad. This marking is inconspicuous and unknown to anyone else.
EXECUTIONS — Executions are rare, reserved for members that have betrayed the Coalition or for their most hated enemies. The entire group is often called to witness the execution. If there is a member who was especially wronged by the sentenced party, that animal is allowed to choose the method of execution, whether it be by fire, drowning, stoning, fed to a carnivorous plant, or so forth. If there is no such member, then the Kingpin will decide. One of the Warmongers, Usurper, or Kingpin will usually execute the chosen death; however, if the especially wronged party is determined to do the task themselves, they are welcome to do so. The dead animal is not to be given a proper burial—instead, they are either eaten or left for the crows.
PAST LEADERS WATCH OVER US — With the death of a leader, a statue is erected in their honor. These rock statues are located deep in the mountains in a a castle known as the 'Hall of the Kings.'
DAY OF REMEMBRANCE — In February, the COTC honor their dead. While there are rarely clan-wide gatherings, individuals are likely to visit the graves of their loved ones and leave offerings. The Guru(s) of the group will often use this month to check on the mental health of their charges; they will wear their tribal war paint openly throughout the month, to honor the dead and remind the other animals that their ears are open.
DEATH OF THE YEAR — At the year’s end, falling at the end of winter and commonly referred to as the Death of the Year by longtime members, several bonfires are lit throughout the week leading up to the year’s last day. The last bonfire is traditionally lit on the last day of the year, in the center of the Floating City, for a gathering of the entire group. Each member is encouraged to go up to the bonfire and cast physical objects into the fire; these objects are to represent the limitations, shortcomings, or barriers the animal intends to overcome in the next year. Popular choices include heart shaped wood carvings, “cursed” objects, bundled herbs, and crystals. Caricatures of enemies are also commonly thrown into the pyre.
SPRING EQUINOX — Life begins anew with the stirrings of spring, and the Spring Equinox often falls on the tail end of winter. Now is the perfect time to enjoy playing in the snow in the warm sunlight. Whether the snow’s melted completely or not, the Coalition celebrates life’s rebirth and continuation with bouts of cleaning, fresh paint decorations, and roasted pheasants.
MAY EVE — On May Eve, the plants flourish. Spring is in full swing, filling the air with pollen and floral sweetness. The plants on the island almost glow with life, and the carnivorous plants are especially vibrant. May Eve and May Day commonly see lovers swap floral gifts, gurus bustling to dry fresh herbs for the colder weather, and frollicing citizens enjoying the warm weather. If it drizzles—not rains—then it’s a lucky omen for the Coalition’s children.
SUMMER SOLSTICE — When summer is in full swing, the Coalition ramps up their raiding and gathering of supplies. The summer solstice is the deadline for the Kingpin to decide which enemies to focus on for the rest of the summer and autumn season, when enemies’ territories are richest with resources and overflowing with too many children to protect. At home, the Coalition will wear warpaint, sharpen their weapons, and prepare for raids.
AUTUMN EQUINOX AND MONSTER BASH EVENT—
WINTER SOLSTICE —
The Code of the Condemned indicates the rules and regulations of The Condemned. If a law is broken, the given character will be punished accordingly. Their fate is decided by the Kingpin.
— The Kingpin's word is law. Their demands will not be ignored, nor questioned. Any grievance towards their orders is forbidden and is severely punished.
— Newcomers into the group are automatically accepted. If there is any suspicion or obvious threat, speak up. They will be exiled/executed.
— Espionages that are suspected of betrayal will not be spared. They will be officially executed on-site, and any reincarnation or revived version is exiled for all time.
— Any harm towards fellow members or allies is prohibited. Punishment will vary.
— Slavery, torture, murder, cannibalism, and more within the Coalition of the Condemned is permitted against enemies.
— All Beasts of Beyond rules apply ICly and OOCly.
The Coalition of the Condemned is a warbound group. They steal and take what they lack from other groups with greater resources. Any group that is not an ally is a potential target to them; to say that the Coalition is “neutral” with another group simply means they aren’t actively raiding the other. However, they are known to ally with groups, usually for military or trading purposes.
ALLIES — The Iron Forged
NEUTRAL — Everyone else
ENEMIES — The Typhoon
KINGPIN — Rising from the rubble, the Kingpin is the rightful leader. Their word is law and those that defy it will be severely punished.
Stryker, roleplayed by Orion
USURPER — Underneath the Kingpin is the Usurper. They are next in line to leadership. Similar to the Kingpin, their demands are pressing. They can lead raids, order regular members, and initiate others to join their ranks.
Currently there is no Usurper.
WARMONGER — These brutal animals have proven their worth on the battlefield or as key supporters to the COTC’s raiding efforts (such as crafting weapons, teaching combat lessons, exemplary use of powers, twisted torturers, ect). They can lead raids, initiate others, an hold celebrations/events.
Currently there are no Warmongers.
GURU — Unlike the brute force of the Usurper and Kingpin, the Guru is the group's medic. For any issues regarding a character's physical or mental health, they should visit the Guru to receive treatment. Along with this, the Guru is in charge of applying the group's tribal war paint on members. For their own paint, the Kingpin will apply it.
Chaz, roleplayed by Rexaraneo
Ninazu, roleplayed by Axiom
ESPIONAGE — The espionage is a key player in The Coalition of the Condemned's new plans. As a spy in other groups, they relay vital information to Stryker and his usurper. Any espionages found guilty of double-crossing will be executed. Even the suspicious will be punished brutally.
Ezrakel, roleplayed by Astral
Argus, roleplayed by Wisker
WANDERER — Wanderers are the regular members of the Coalition of the Condemned. They hold little to no power and must listen to the Kingpin's word.
SLAVE — These vile beings are the lowest members within the group. They hold no rights and will obey ANY ranks word. Slaves can be captured from other groups and can be tortured/maimed/killed as members please.
EXILED — These members are prohibited from entering the territory at all costs. Due to their betrayal or unspeakable actions, all members are ordered to KILL ON SIGHT.
Currently there are no exiled individuals.
The Coalition of the Condemned was once a place where everyone was equal. Every being lived in harmony. That is... until tragedy struck. Havoc reigned through their territory, ruining their hidden paradise. Beaten down and lost, they searched for someone who could lead them to a new home. With optimistic ideals and mad plans, Stryker rose to the opportunity. He brought new hope to their group. Those that followed him were willing to do whatever it took to return to their former glory. No matter the cost.
The lion ruled with confidence and strength. He used strategic measures to achieve his goals, ultimately scoring them a strong, ruthless reputation throughout his time. During Stryker's reign, he ruthlessly took over several groups in rapid succession: Tanglewood, The Typhoon, Elysium. He ultimately disbanded Elysium, taking their territory as a part of their new home. Along with this, Stryker managed to attack his former home, the Pitt’s desert wasteland, where he’d ruled and been dethroned. With the help of Vale, Ninazu and Stryker destroyed The Pitt's main pyramid.
GENERAL TERRITORY
Mangosteen — The Coalition of the Condemned is the home of the Mangosteen fruit. The plant's peel is rich in tannin. This chemical can make dyes of green, brown, dark brown, purple, crimson. While it's insides are edible, the rind is highly inedible and should be avoided.
Pomegranate — As another tanning-rich fruit, pomegranates can also be found within their territory, creating a pinkish-red dye and yellow with the rind. When mixed with native iron or indigo, it can also produce several shades of green, black, and grey.
Indigofera — Indigofera, also known as indigo, is also a common flowering plant lining the territory. This plant is commonly used to produce blue dyes. Along with this, several species of indigo can be used to alleviate pain. It's purpose is mainly anti-inflammatory, useful for toothaches, insect stings, snakebites, and swelled areas.
Teak — Teak is a hardwood tree also located within the Coalition of the Condemned. Similar to the Mangosteen, it's leaves are removed, soaked, and boiled to achieve their crimson/maroon color. Due to their anthocyanin content, it can also produce purple or gray colors.
Harbringer Pitcher — The pitcher plants on the Coalition of the Condemned’s island are like no others found in nature, for fully grown Harbringer pitchers are capable of trapping and ingesting a cave bear. Along with their massive size and hunger for meat, these pitcher plants also produce two juices to successfully hunt animals: a powerful psychedelic, located in the pitcher part of the plant, and a honey-like liquid at the pitcher’s lips. Both of these substances are harvested and used by the Coalition of the Condemned—often by ‘distracting’ the pitcher with fresh meat, as each plant eats once every two months. These pitchers are named after Ninazu Harbringer, who introduced the tropical flora from the Coalition’s previous home to the frosty island.
Malus Flytraps — The carnivorous flytraps on the island don’t feed on flies: they feast on flying mammals. The Malus flytraps feast on anything from a bat to a pegasus, and, terrifyingly, are more commonly found nestled in the treetops than on the ground. However, these plants seem somewhat sentient, for they rarely attack members of the Coalition of the Condemned, but outsiders are quickly snatched up. Like the Harbringer pitcher, these flytraps use honey-like secretions to lure mammals and are named after Stryker Malus, the husband of the madwoman who adapted tropical plants to the boreal island.

TRADITIONS
FURS AND TROPHIES — Due to their cold home, many animals in the Coalition wear furs and skins of their hunting trophies. Furs from slain enemies, mythical animals, or extinct creatures are highly regarded. These furs are often made into cloaks, blankets, or armor; they also make excellent gifts, and newcomers are often welcomed with elk skins. TRIBAL WAR PAINT — The Coalition of the Condemned's animals often don dyes from their flora to create vibrant war paint. These simplified patterns indicate rank and powers a member has.
Kingpin — Using teak leaves, a vibrant crimson dye is created. The crimson color indicates the Kingpin's position of power. Upon applying, they put three lines on the bottom of their maw/chin and then add thick circles around the eyes, representing a skull.
Usurper — To show their merciless reign, the Usurper receive three diagonal slash marks across their face. These three slashes use indigo to color their vibrant blue markings.
Warmongers — Like the Usurper, the Warmongers decorate themselves with indigo for vibrant blue markings. They draw a third eye on the center of their forehead and slash it through.
Guru — The Guru receives an upside-down lotus with five leaves on their forehead. To accompany this, a total of five dots line the middle of their face: two on each cheek and one on the bridge of their nose. Orange or yellow are the Guru's colors of choice, allowing them to be easily found in the crowd. Along with this, the Guru is in charge of applying the group's tribal war paint on members. For their own paint, the Kingpin will apply it for them.
Espionage — Spying espionages don't often participate in war, especially if they only have one form. They have no significant mark to indicate their rank while hidden. Upon being discovered or revealing their traitorous act, espionages paint on black circles around their eyes with jagged downward strokes to reveal their alliance. The black colored used for this dye is made from a mixture of pomegranate and iron oxide.
Wanderers — Full-grown members of the group are entitled to any color of dye as long as they do not indicate rank patterns. Meanwhile, elders or children often use green. Green dyes allow vulnerable members to hide within the underbrush easily, protecting them from warfare.
Usurper — To show their merciless reign, the Usurper receive three diagonal slash marks across their face. These three slashes use indigo to color their vibrant blue markings.

AUTUMN EQUINOX — To mark the end of harvest season, the Coalition will have ensured the last of their supplies are gathered in raids by the Autumn Equinox. On the day itself, the Coalition will come together to mourn their dead and celebrate their plunder; gifts are commonly exchanged, children are decorated in stolen jewelry, and small treasures are given to the greatest warriors of the year.
MONSTER BASH EVENT — The COTC holds an annual celebration for scary fun about a week after the autumn equinox. Individuals will commonly prank others, from cheap jump scares to elaborate hoaxes, in the week leading up to the main event. On the day of, many events are held, such as Trick or Treating, Face Painting, Pumpkin Smashing and Carving, Making a Paper Mummy (often by selecting a volunteer), and more!

WINTER SOLSTICE —
YULE TREE — During December, the group will decorate a giant tree with wood, bone, and fur decorations. One of the children or, if there are no children, a Guru or Espionage will select the tree. Throughout the rest of the month, everyone in the group is encouraged to decorate the tree however they see fit; the only thing they are not allowed to do is remove decorations placed up by others.
YULE NIGHT — The Yule Tree is taken down and burned to light the largest bonfire of the winter season. A night of drinking, eating sweets, and connecting with fellow wanderers follows. Friends and family will often exchange little homemade gifts this night, and new members will receive elk and deer furs as gifts from the Kingpin and Usurper.
