Vale’s ears twitched. The albino rolled over and stood up with a flourish of lazy elegance, and the shapeshifter eyed Brymstone. Head tilted, Vale tapped vis muzzle and considered, until ve pushed vis lower jaw to the side and popped the damned thing. “Oh, you weren’t blowing salt and smoke up my ass when you mentioned there’d be work involved.”

The shapeshifter jawned, popping vis jaw for the second time in as many minutes, and rolled vis neck until ve heard seven pops. “Sure. Not like I’m mortal, anyway, might as well send the undying one out for the high risk missions, eh? Smart of you.” Vale forgot Brymstone—and others—remained ignorant to vis supposed immortality, but, oops, secret’s out. Though that was hardly one of Vale’s more embarrassing secrets.

“Got a preference for who I hit? Could fuck with interclan relations later if I raid a crew you’d like to ally with.” Vale shrugged, popped a shoulder, and continued without missing a beat. “I’ll hit the Coalition or The Typhoon, if it’s all the same to you. Unless, like I said, you got some political thoughts bouncing around in that skull of yours.”
