“Listen here, you little shit,” Vale huffed, puffing out a blue flame. Zir tongue lolled out of zir mouth, dripping saliva as the muscle twitched, lengthening and splitting down the middle. “Ah, that’s better.”
Zir eyes melted, wet squish falling down zir face. The eye sockets themselves changed, shrinking, then replicated over zir skull. Ten red eyes glared down at the two-headed feline, and the jaguar stalked towards the grey and orange tabby. Zir tail cracked and popped, splitting into two, three, four, all the way up to nine tails.
“You demand this Diya because she abandoned the Elysium, you say?” Vale hissed, forked tongue spitting fire. “You heard me say, not a moment ago, that I abandoned the Ascendants right around when they became Elysium. Yet you do not ask Gael to turn me over. Or for me to return, personally, which would be far more polite.”
The melanistic feline slipped past the other angry animals. One by one, Vale’s fangs fell out of zir mouth, clattering at zir paws. Vale did not notice. Tiny little shark teeth grew one by one, row by row, in Vale’s gaping maw. Blood stained each tooth, running out of Vale’s lips and dripping on the ground.
“You know what I infer from this behavior? You took one look at me and understood you couldn’t hope to get your hooks into my head, so you tried an alternate strategy.” Vale smirked, the right corner of zir bleeding mouth twitched up in a smile, the other corner a frown. “You told me exactly what I wanted to hear, I can see that now. Oh, you should’ve stopped your con there. Should’ve. Could’ve. Would’ve.”
Vale stopped in front of Hani and Alani, bending zir knees to be on eye level. Five eyes watched Hani. Five eyes stared down Alani. Heat radiated off Vale’s body, and the flesh would be too hot to touch. In truth, ze couldn’t maintain this heavily mutated form much longer, but anger pushed out the headache and chills rolling over every muscle.
“I. See. You. And if there is one thing I do not abide, it is inauthenticity.” Rips opened in Vale’s back, revealing white vertebrae and oozing black sludge. Zir fur shivered, beginning to peel away from the burning muscle beneath. “You try manipulating me again, and you will have far worse than lightning lobbed at you. Because, I? I will do far worse than give you a clean death.”
