In a few months, the kit was going to get to be an apprentice, and as a celebration, he's decided to sneak himself towards the edges of the camp today. He wanted to explore, maybe he could catch something and impress everybody once he brought back a giant sea bass! Or even a seagull! All the warriors would have to look at him and say that he was a very strong kit, a natural talent. Even better, his big brother would be proud of him, too. How exciting!
And so, the tabby drops low, tail swaying back and forth behind him. A paw reaches out, pulls him forward quietly, looking around as he tries to decide where he'd go first. It would probably be easier to try and catch a fish, but a bird could be even more impressive. He looks up, trying to see if he could find any seagulls flying downwards towards the beach, though in his search, the boy is distracted. A pair of pinchers, a meaty red shell, sat in front of him. A crab - not a big catch, but maybe it'd be easier if he started small, and then he could come back with two meals! He smirks to himself, tail twitching excitedly. And so he lunges at the crab, unsheathing his growing claws as he skids on his landing, desperately grasping at the crustacean. But then he feels a pinch. He pushes at it, but it doesn't let go. "Ow! 'Ey!" came the kitten's high-pitched yelp, his paw now shaking furiously to get the crab off. Though in his attempt, the pinchers only sink deeper into Weepingkit's fur, causing him to tense further and let out an even louder cry.
He whines, batting at the crab. If someone were to hear and find him like this, he wouldn't even get to catch one thing today. And so in his desperation, he pulls his paw towards his face, using his teeth to quickly bite down on the bottom of the crab, yanking it off and ultimately killing it. Though now that he looks down at his paw, red drips from the punctures the now dead crustacean had left, and it stung really bad. A pitiful, quiet cry exits the kitten, pressing onto his injured paw in an attempt to hopefully get rid of the pain before anyone came and noticed.
