    he had seen the corpse rotting in their territory and given its state had felt ill inclined to take it away for clean up - let the woods take it, maybe it’ll fuel regrowth with its rotting carcass.

    So when he’d followed his usual routes and come upon where it had intersected with the attack and where the bodies had lain - he was mildly surprised to find it moved, though at first he assumed someone had finally gotten rid of it - a small scent underneath the rank of the corpse parted through.
