[font=trebuchet ms]Rin had gotten better at brewing tea, as of late. It didn't taste good enough to justify having it on the ready at all hours of the day, yet, but when she did make it, drinking it was an alright experience. She didn't feel like she was choking it down anymore.
Having settled at the edge of the dock with a cup of tea, Rin leaned down to drink from it-
-and smelled smoke, the sound of crackling growing larger and larger.
All thoughts of tea fled from her head, replaced by overwhelming panic. Scrambling to her feet, she bolted towards the source of the crackling. Too late, she thought she could hear the voices whisper, even as the sounds of burning grew louder and louder. You can't do anything. Gritting her teeth, she shook her head. She couldn't have a flashback here, not when someone might be in danger.
Skidding to a stop, she saw Clony standing there calmly- maybe a little irritable, but not scared- surrounded by fire, all-consuming, all-destroying. Her breathing quickened, her pupils shrinking into slits. She couldn't do anything. There's fire, there's no water, you can't do anything. The air was dry, throttled by ash. She can't control something this size.
She sees it coming a few moments before, but try as she might-
-she detaches.
Her eyes blank, she approaches Clony and nudges them with one paw away from the fire. Once they are aware of her presence, she then heads back towards the town, gesturing with her tail for them to follow. She will find a bucket, which she can then fill with water. Alternatively, once the two of them are out of danger, it should be okay to reattach- at least, as far as she can tell. Once she's away from the physical fire, then she can start dealing with its existence without going into flashbacks.
