The shadow of someone approaching catches his attention. He isn't sure who would dare to get so close after he fell in, but he doesn't really care. He's just glad that someone is supposedly coming to help him. But he wasn't sure how anyone would, considering he was bigger than most of the Snowbound members. Either way, he kicks out his back legs, pushing himself back up to the surface. He gasps in the air, his throat aching. His nose is sore. It feels like his chest is clogged from the water he had accidentally swallowed.
Aizawa is fairly certain that the bandages the husky had thrown at him wouldn't do much to help him, but he still clings onto whatever he can grab, biting down and getting himself tangled in them. He's guided over towards solid land, being tugged along. Then there's a sudden splash from beside him and with it comes a presence. A paw is pressed to his neck, startling him. He had definitely gotten his attention, his head whipping around to face Kilua, unsure when or how he had gotten there in the water with him.
It doesn't matter much, though, as they're quickly back on the land. His head is spinning slightly from being teleported so suddenly like that. He finds it difficult to breathe, coughing and hacking up water, the liquid dribbling down his chin as he got it up. Clawing at his scarf, he unwinds it from around his neck, which it had miraculously stayed wrapped around. The lion gulps down air, panting heavily. "Thank you," he manages in his breathless state, turning towards who had saved him.
He had never thought much of Kilua. The most he had thought of him was a rude child, which was something he had encountered many times in his life. But now he felt a personal debt to him, after he had generously saved his life. For all he knew, he could have just left him to his own devices. For that, he's grateful, though he isn't kissing the ground he walks on, either.
